[Will Split 50/50] I have a very nice domain, help me to monetize

My domain will be:

But its not a privacy domain, well that can be done later if need so.
Anyway i have been holding onto this domain since last year and i never really make full use of it.

Now i was thinking to sell the domain (but few works need to be done like creating a good website and a good page rank) or monetize it via a CPA offer in related to iPhone.

And the best part is that i dont have any expertise in any of this hence i'm looking for someone that is familiar with the domain industries to guide me and split whatever incoming income that we might get.

The best part is, "I don't have any expertise in any of this"? That really doesn't seem like a great selling point if you expect 50%.

It's a popular enough niche although fairly competetive and the domain name is ok even though it's just a .us tld. The same name is available in .net .org and many other tld's and even more are available without the hyphen.

Any particular reason you think it would be more worthwhile to do a 50/50 split with you instead of just registering one of those other names and then keeping 100% instead?

Anyhow i am just a newbie here without any special title, hence do forgive me for the lack of experience in posting such business deal.

I always noticed some seniors advice the junior to 'take action' if you want to success in life, and that is what i'm trying to do now. Hence i am looking for a mentor to guide me to the correct path (beside reading all the ebooks and all the valuable post from other members)

BHW is a huge community and everyone of us have different kind of mentalities and mindset, hence i believe there a people who willing to help others without expecting too much.

Anyway i wont stop looking for a mentor to guide me, because i dont want to be like most of the people who stop halfway without hitting their target.

I wasn't trying to be mean, and I certainly don't want to dissuade you from trying to get something going. It's just that having a domain name isn't that big a deal, if you want to do a 50/50 jv with someone you'll need to bring more than just that to the table.

You'll be better off to just use the information you've been reading on bhw and other resources to build and promote your own website, then you get to keep 100%. Do that and you'll develop the experience you need if you ever do want to get involved in a jv with someone.

Here's a couple ways you could get started with it on your own.

First suggestion would be

1. Sign up for a cpa account
2. Set up a review site for the *product* , just use wp for that.
   • Make your main page explain why the *product* is so great
   • Include a promotional box with "limited time offer to get the *product* free
   • Link that promotional box to a *FREE product* offer from the cpa company.
3. Setup profiles on facebook and other social networking sites and forums with links to your review page.
4. Write a few articles about how your review site is the best place to get information and find the best buys for the *product* and submit them to article directories, and free blog sites with backlinks to your main site.
5. Create as many backlinks as you can through bookmarking, blog commenting, forum profile sigs and posts, etc. Just follow the recommendations you find on here for how to get your site listed in the SERPS.
6. Also follow the advice on how to get traffic from direct promotions as well. Things like CL, FB, YA, etc.

Second suggestion would be

1. Find a company that sells the *product* that has an affiliate program
2. Set up the same type page as for the first suggestion.
   • Just change the promotional box to a "Get the best deals from this seller" type salescopy.
   • Then just link your promo box to the sellers website or individual *product* page using your referral link.
3. Do all the same SEO and direct promotions as for the first suggestion.

You're right that there's a lot of very helpful people around. Many of them have already made threads on bhw explaining in detail how to do every bit of how you can set this up. If you have any trouble figuring any of it out, just ask questions in a related forum or thread specifically about what your having trouble with. Some of those same helpful people will do what they can to give you some advice specific to the problem you need to get past.

You'll have a better chance of succeeding like that, rather than trying to find a mentor for a 50/50 split. The most likely thing you'll get from that tactic is finding some of the less scrupulous people (which are also around) that will just try to take advantage of you. There are good people that will really try to help when someone asks for a mentor, but it also makes it easy for scammers to take advantage of desperate people. That's why mentoring isn't an allowed topic on bhw.

Once you've built site that's getting some traffic and making some money, then you might consider a jv with someone. You could look for someone that could help you sell it for top dollar, or find someone to try increasing how much money you can both make with it. At that point you'll have something you can bring to the table when looking for a JV. Although you might find your making enough money with it that you're not interested in selling it or splitting profits anymore. :cool2:
