Hey!

I do automatic following using a script. It receives what search.twitter.com is outputting.

Unfortunately only a little amount of people are useful, I add a lot of useless bots.

Which search terms do you recommend to avoid useless spammers?

My approach so far:

TrueTwit
Searches like http://search.twitter.com/search?q=searchterm++-buy+-sell+-free+-filter:links+-include:retweets

Better but still a lot of useless people.

BTW: I filter german tweets, too, ie those with de in language but I found that most people don't enter the language information.

So how do I not filter out those who do speak german but don't have the entry de.

Try adding -http to filter out tweets with links, that will get rid of most of the spammers.

if you want to filter out German people

I want to filter out all people who are not german. So vice versa to what you understood.

But including umlauts isn't that useful. Isn't there a service I can send a phrase to and it tells me it's language?

Actually I should send a lot of previous messages to it, to avoid the situation when there's an occasional english text from a german writer.

Speaking of which, is there a way to detect a user according to hisher writing profile? So some script detecting whether the user is writing a lot of xd and ^^ and shit like that to determine his/her grade of maturity

guys i need your valuable advice. I want to switch on to twitter and do some blogs or blog maybe. The thing which i want to ask if i have 6k followers and if i twitt once a day, can i achieve 1k UV's per day for my site?? and if 1k UV's it's 5-10% conversation rate, if adsense clicks in medium will be 0.75$. will i have 37.5-75$ per day????
