Theres a lot of rumours flying around saying that facebook will soon dominate the internet pretty much the same as google is doing now. Facebook search is now indexing regular websites that implement the facebook social plugins. Facebook are also in the process of migrating there new messaging system to implement email. Do you reckon that facebook will take over and dominate the internet and that eventually all our internet browsing will be done within facebook. What do you think?

How can you browse all the internet websites within facebook :-?

It seems like they're doing a good job of it so far. It wouldn't surprise me to see them knock Google off their throne. I think it's great because competition breeds innovation.

I bet that it won't knock Google! Google are the experts of their job for a long time and even such a popular page as Facebook won't be able to competite with the big G.

Google currently lets web developers implement applications through iframes on faceboko pages, in the future facebook may start incorporating web browsing through these iframes or maybe facebook may become similar to the current web browser.

Its just a possibility regarding the future of the internet, who knows how it will really go though. if we did we'd all be millionaires :-)

Facebook for browsing? Browsing requires a search engine; not a social networking site. FB may overtake Big G in terms of traffic, but for browsing the Internet or searching for product or services it would never match Google, or even 2nd tier search engines for that matter.

Yes it is hard to imagine anything ever taking over google.

In response to your comment. More shops are starting to appear on facebook so it may be a case of the product you are trying to find having a nice little shop on facebook.

Facebook and the big G is too different in nature to compare with each other excepts in terms of traffic
