New Project: Go or No-go?

Hi,

I'm looking to start a new wordpress blog website. Details:
2 word keyword
.com taken but is a parked domain
.net and .org open

12.1k searches a month for specific keyword

Competition consists of different type websites like softpedia, brothersoft, youtube and a few others... Obviously they tell something about the keyword and they domain backlink count is huge. Page back link differs between 800 and 2600 and several with zero page backlinks. Also 9 of 10 have PR2+, one zero. I only measured competition of top 10, cause that's where I want to be in

What do you think about it? The keyword is suited for monetization with few CB products as well as adsense and amazon.

Please give me your thoughts and criticism and I will be happy to keep you all updated if I go through with this

need more info. you need to provide either market samurai photo of competition + CPC or let me know the keyword and i'll tell you my opinion, but i guess that's not an option even

Yeah, I k agree the CPC is low when compared with the anticipated volume of 12.1K.

Only based on CPC? If the #1 spot can give ~5k targetted visitors... Will it be too hard to rank for or what?

I don't like the stats of the other sites. Do they have KW in URL? They have A LOT of backlinks... And yea, CPC is quite low. My 2 current sites have €1.8 ~ +$2 and €4 ~ $5 in CPC and 8k searches and 5k searches.

After an hour of research I came up with a few prospects... I'll first give the global searcher per month and average CPC. If anyone sees a real prospect, I'll give the competition results(through MS).

Well no competitor info, no opinion =)

0.99 for a 40k volume word - no go, unless you can KILL the competition, but not usually the case for such a searched KW and 0.77, 12.1k search volume is also one I wouldn't go for.. Keep CPCs >$1 and preferably also above >€1
