301 Redirect for a whole Blog?

Hello All,

I have built a Wordpress blog as a folder under my main domain, as a /forum under my domain

I now want to abandon the /Forum, but I don't want to lose any links coming into the forum. I want them to give juice to My Domain.

I have tried a htaccess that redirects the forum and it works for /forum only and does not work for every Page, Post and Category on the forum, if that makes sense.

I have tried several Wordpress plugins to no avail. Does anyone have a solution?

301 redirect, what that mean and what it does ? anyone can explain me in details please. i'm very new to this world.

There are a lots of plain in word press.But specification you do not mention in which are you using.,please give more info.
