So first I do not work for Ixwebhosting and will not benefit if you sign up with them. This is just me passing info to my friend's here at BHW.

I'll start with the Bad.

NO CPANEL.

They instead use something called Hsphere which kind of looks like Cpanel if Cpanel had been made in 1992.

NO 1 CLICK WP INSTALL.
This really isn't true they do have a one click Wordpress install but it will only install it to a subdirectory. Like Mysite.com/wordpress I don't know many people who use WP in this fashion so it is pretty much useless.
It however is not all that hard to upload Wordpress via ftp and activate it by hand connecting it to the database. If I managed to do it I am sure any BHW member can.

On to the great...

One year pricing $108.00 a year.
*3 free domains.
*15 dedicated Ip's
*Free 7 day trial. Give them a try for 7 days see if you can get used to the Hsphere crap. One thing no free domains until you are actually a paying customer..at least they aren't dumb right?
*friendly responsive U.S. based support staff(They are in Ohio).
*They say free domain renewal on the 3 free domains for life as long as you have a hosting account with them. I'm hoping it does not go way way up after a year.
*The dedicated ip's don't have to be in sequence and can be from up too three different Cblocks. The catch is the ip's are randomly assigned. I figured out after adding a couple domains to wait a while before adding another and the Ip you get won't be in sequence and may be from another C block. I wound up with 3 different C blocks out of the 15.

I found this company because on of my competitors uses them. The competitor has a good keyword rich domain that is newer than mine does not have any back links and is only one page of HTML. The only thing I could see that he had going for him was that he was on a dedicated IP. I figured what the heck i'll try it.

All in all 2 weeks in I have to say I am really happy. Figure the 3 domains are worth 9 bucks each right? So I got 15 dedicated ip's for $81.00 that came with unlimited hosting. I would say that is a decent deal even though I have to put up with this Hsphere crap. Now I have to figure out how to install WP MU on Hsphere..great!

if i remember right some people here had problems with them when running scripts. Also no Cpanel is a nogo for me

I guess you got a good deal there. 15 IP addresses + 3 domains! Wow!

I was a former client a few years back. I think I paid $200+ for a year for a shared hosting account. But another client on the same box was killing the server and I've grown tired. I know IX improved their service after that but it was too late for me.

WordPress multi-site can be enabled in a few steps. You only have to follow the instructions in codex[dat]wordpress[dat]org/Create_A_Network . Alright, I'm not sure how to do that with hsphere especially for the domain part. But I'm sure, there's a tool for that somewhere there.

However, I have to say that ever since I learned to setup VPS, I won't be coming back to shared hosting.

The problem with not using cpanel is that when you want to move, there is too much work involved in manual migration of all your domains and databases unlike the automated quick migration with cpanel across servers.

I agree cpanel or webpanel is the best but learning this Hsphere seemed to be worth the free domains and 15 dedicated ips. To each his own.

I see this on more and more forums and I have been wondering if it is a bot running up post counts or someone doing it by hand.

Man it's not like you target a thread with 900 posts and replied using a line from the third post. You copied and pasted the OP of a thread with 5 replies...

Hey A for effort though really..

Hsphere is a great panal. i'm working with it on my Dudi and it's pretty much more stable then other CP.

about the automatic install, never used it, so i don't really know.

It's all a part of a plan...
Their control panel is very very - very very - very bad.

Hey,

IXwebhosting looks great and very very cheap! Plesk/Cpanel/DirectAdmin charges a monthly fee to hosting companies, if Hsphere is free of charge, this could be the only explanation they can offer 15IPs to 7.95 usd/month.

Do they allow adult sites? What is the CPU usage policy? Thanks for helping if you can answer me!

I solved my problems with IX by running the sites themselves on IC but running the databases on an external VPS
