Submitting unique articles

Hey guys,

Is is better to submit a unique article to one site i.e. ezinearticles or to multiple article hosting sites? The more the merrier for SEO/back links? My concern is do you get penalized for duplicate content if you went submit crazy?

Usually what I do is first submit to ezine because they are the pickiest and are a good value to you. After that, I have been able to submit to articlebase and goarticles. These seem to be the big thee directories that I have had the best success.

If you promote those links, you can get a pretty good value out of it. Submitting to other directories doesn't hurt but you should spin your articles so you are not getting dinged with dup content. I have seen a lot of debate around the validity of dup content but if you have time to spin then properly, it can't hurt.

A good practice would be to submit your unique article to ezine, rewrite or submit unique article to articlebase, rewrite or submit unique to goarticles. Then, take your articles, submit as is or spin and submit to the rest after your original articles have been approved. The reason I say to wait until they have been approved is, you don't want your articles that you have submitted to the good article directories to be 'duplicate' by a bunch of so-so article directories.

Another thing, dont think I'm raggin on you in particular, but I am so tired of the phrase "penalized for duplicate content". No such thing, unless it is 2 pages of dupe content on your own site, and even then, it's not realy a penalty, if anything it's more of a discredit of the duplicate content. Anyways, above all else, unique, 100% original content will always outbeat even 95% original content (which is really, well, 5% duplicate!) :violin:

I am actually looking for a bump in SERP for specific keywords. I have two links back to the money site at the bottom of the article.

What is your target?

I would look into link networks (ie linkwheel, link pyramid, etc) for powerful backlinking.. some people swear by article marketing, and that's great! I just feel the power of such article directories are on a downfall, and only the best, high pr article directories will be worth putting your efforts in. Of course, you can also link to your posted articles to give them more backlinking power, as them being there on their own wont carry very much weight, linkjuice wise.

As an added note, your links/keywords will be more powerful within the articles themselves, rather than at the bottom of the article.. links within context are more important than ever before! Just food for thought

Hi,

Why not try and submit a unique article to Ezine, and after the articles' accepted, submit the whole article including your resource box on ezine to various other sites?

This won't work for Articlesbase and Goarticles or Associatedcontent etc. but will work for tons of other directories with smaller PR's. Afterall the idea of submitting to ezine is so that other Autoblogs or scrapers get your link and post it to their sites?

I don't believe in this so called 'penalty for dup content' too. I've never had any such experience because of spun articles or because of the technique I've mentioned above. But, even if this was true, the article directory with your so-called dup content will provide a buffer and won't let any of the penalty trickle down to you. I'm just saying, because I have never had this issue in the past.

P.S. ATsammy I completely agree with you, and in addition to whatever you've said, everyone needs to rethink their article marketing strategy. These article sites have started putting loads of ads above the fold on the same pages where your articles appear, hence reducing your resource boxes' CTR. Ezine as an example has started plastering the pages with adsense, they seem to be more interested in generating revenue and not so much to let people click on your link in the resource box. I don't blame them, but the need of the hour is to come up with a game changer for article marketing strategies.

Even if there is any penalty, articles are not on your sites so how you will get penalty... Lots of sites scrape other big sites and if you are submitting on one big site and some small site scrape it then do you think Google or any other search engine will penalize you for that... Naa I don't think so... How can you get penalized for some one else's work...

So don't worry and submit them across network of sites... Ezine and few other sites are very particular with quality so post unique content over there, rest all good...
