Favorite Registrar?

Hey folks, what's your favorite domain name registrar? I've heard a lot about godaddy.com, but then again, I've also heard quite a few bad things about them.

They're really quick to register - and changing nameservers is practically instant. Oh, did I mention, they're really cheap too .

To be fair I haven't tried to do anything else there as yet, but so far so good.

Agree. I've been using Namecheap for every domain I purchase. Very reliable and easy to manage.

Same here. All my domains have been registered on Namecheap and it'll likely stay as. They are great! Free ssl and privacy block too.

I use both NameCheap and Godaddy, but I prefer NameCheap cause their more reliable.

Only reason to use GoDaddy is for a discount.

Otherwise you're making a mistake.

1. Any spam complaint will have GoDaddy shut down your domain, and charge you $200 to review if you're spamming or not. Notice the guilty until proven innocent approach here.
2. Any change of registrar information will block your domain from transferring for 60 days. This is a huge inconvenience.

Use namecheap. If you have more than 50 domains (even spread across accounts), they'll give you a permanent GOLDDEAL discount coupon you can use when signed in.

I havebeen using Godaddy for some time. No issues till now. Happy with that.

Namecheap was better for us than godaddy. Godaddy's customer service person was very good, but we should never have had to speak with him in the first place. Namecheap is much more straightforward to deal with in my experience (and cheaper!)

Do you know if this happens quite often? And if a single complaint is enough for GoDaddy to shut down your domain?

I've been using GoDaddy for my recent domain purchases. If you buy at least 6 at a time you get free privacy block.

But after this post I think I'm going to give Namecheap a try.

Name.com. How come no one register with them? They are the absolute best.

Anyone who registers with Name.com will certainly be satisfied. Their private whois is very protective and they won't take away your domain if you forget to renew. (you can push domains if you sell later on with no hassle and any buyer will trust Name.com with transfers if they like to in contrast to nodaddy).

Just for example: I just renewed a casino domain I have for a few years after somehow I forgot about it (Even though they email you many many times). It expired in December 16. Today January 2nd. 3 seconds after I paid the website was back on > Show me another company with such service.

I registered in the past with:
Internet.bs (Good).
NameCheap (Good, I hate the 2001 platform and only purchase in specials).
Netfirms (Good).
1&1 (Not good but cheap with private whois).
IPower (Stay away like fire they gave my private details to lawyers with a C/D).

Never registered with Nodaddy.. I don't like chicks spam.

With the above being said; Name.com is the most expensive but you GET what you pay for.
I don't even get the free domains with the hosting companies because I know it will be a headache to transfer later, not to mention hosting issues that may cause domain lost (but I don't register garbage domains.. So if you just experiment it may be fine).

1and1's prices for domains are good considering they include private registration at no additional cost. I would not use them for anything else.

internet dot bs for my free private whois and quick service. I have more with godaddy but that's cause I was noob when I first started.
