Keyword research for Autoblogs, How?

I have a few questions about keyword research for autoblogs.
I?ve seen 2 types of autoblogs:

Autoblogs that target long tail keywords in the domain.
And autoblogs that just have a generic type of domain which cover 1 niche (Example: fitness, golf, or basketball)

I find it difficult to find good long tail keywords that cover a large enough niche which has enough content to keep the autoblog running.

Wouldn?t it be better to target these long tail keywords in posts (and do some more deep linking to these posts) instead of having them in the domain?

What is your experience with keyword research for autoblogs, and how do you use this to your advantage?

Any advice regarding keyword research particularly for autoblogs would be appreciated.

I prefer to go with a general niche in mind when you make your site. For example the main search term might be 2 words and have a search volume of 10k-20k. Then you use long-tail KW and an continue to add unique content based on these keywords to the site until it's a large site, and monetize it by including a CPA offer in the posts, and/or CPC ads on all the pages. More chance to get views from keywords you'd never think of. I think 50% or so of all google searches are completely new or something like this

IMO it's important to take it a step at a time if you're running things yourself, instead of trying to make 100 blogs in a month.

Thanks for your answer, yes I'm going for high quality blogs instead of high quantity crap blogs. I don't want to make the same mistake everybody's making. I read somewhere that the owner of the autoblog blueprint himself only has 80 blogs, but those are high quality ones with unique content added on them.

I use Market Samurai for my research. Then I add a couple of original articles to make the blog stick in the rankings. I also buy a domain that is the EXACT keyphrase. I have several Amazon niche blogs that I have flipped that are #1 in the SERPS.

You'll get a lot of conflicting opinions on this. I know some that throw up 20 sites a day with NO kw research whatsoever and make a ton of cash. I think a fair % of their sites get de-indexed at some point though.

I have always put a ton of time into kw research for my autoblogs from the beginning - and have never had one deindexed. It's not just important to do the research for the kw's, however, it's important to make proper use of them in your site to get the most mileage out of them. It's not just important to do the research for the kw's, however, it's important to make proper use of them in your site to get the most mileage out of them. I prefer this tactic. I made 2 nearly identical auto blogs last year, with almost every post being the same, and 1 brings in 50-100 visitors each day, 1 brings in 5-10 visitors each day. Why is that? I don't know, so I just like to throw them up as fast as I can.

perhaps but that's the "thinking" with those that throw 'em up en masse. "easy come - easy go". If you didn't put a lot of work into the thing and have 20 others just like it, what's the big deal if it gets de-indexed?

However, you also have to consider the logistics of having a huge VOLUME of autoblogs - ie - domain purchases and hosting nightmares. not fun.

If you are constantly rotating some out and others in - it may work. I don't know b/c I don't do it that way.

Sorry I might be a noob here
i bought a domain name with different keywords in my mind it was a 2 word keyword in the domain name and end up using different keywords for harvesting posts
these two were not closely related
all my posts are duplicate content no backlinking no other
once in a while i modify few keywords add few different keywords and remove few

i am getting 100+ visitors a day thats the minimum
and 2$ adsense income a day with no work....

I have another domain similar steps with some bookmarking and some manual hand written content ... but I dont find any difference in the result ....

Now I am working with article writings and submissions
UAW submissions and article directories submissions let see what turns out... with it....


these sites are not even 6 months old... and yes posts of these autoblogs gets indexed very quick....... I dont rewrite my content

80% visitors are from google - looooong tail keywords with the keyword i use to harvest posts ...
20% are direct from different parts of the world...

After these two approach I feel that having multiple spam blog is not a good long term game...
we should only focus on quality of our blog, its content and building backlinks

for fast score we can also try social media ...

your blog should answer every question a user ask in that niche
and no harm in giving credit.... if you are using duplicate content...

and yes For other blogs i have used mass backlinks with xrummer and blog comments stuff but that all lasted for short term... and I have abandoned those domain

I will always opt for stable long term results content and backlinks both are required for that.


in autoblogging selection of keywords and categories is very important and if you get time then properly tagging EACH post also helps ..

well, there's the video on my blog where I go into detail but, in short - my domain names have NOTHING to do w/ my niches b/c I buy used domains.

I use Micro Niche Finder (sometimes Market Samurai) for kw research to identify the best kw's in the niche that I can rank for w/ an autoblog. I use the best for the blog title, next few for the blog tag line. Top 5-7 best for the Categories and then start using other keyword tools to fill in the categories with lots of relevant kw's.

Important! - Change Permalink structure to:

/%category%/%postname%/

so that you get the "Category" kw listed in every url

I got your PM, but can't reply because I don't have enough posts yet. Here is what I said:
I would say anything in the digital realm should convert. One thing to look at is the Google Trends to see what's popular at any given time. Also look to see how many reviews there are for a particular niche on Amazon. Alot of reviews probably means popularity concerning a product.

I was about to do this in combination with senuke web 2.0 blast, but it doesn't work well? After a while they got deindexed?
