Will Apple buy up Facebook?

I don't think he would ever give up facebook as Mark Zuckerberg's identity is facebook,but if it was to happen,what a shift in powers it would be for the internet and especially for Apple.

this Apple-FB rumor is one of them, check out the other predictions as well, they have some interesting things to say about the future of the USD and the price of gold

imho even if it comes to reality (which i don't think so), it will be a fusion instead of Apple buy FB

Facebook turned down 15B offer from Microsoft few years ago... now FB is most visited site in the world - that means in the short run it will be making similar ad revenue as G.
As weird as it sound I don't think Apple can afford Facebook.

Same was said of Tom and Myspace. Mark can easily be separated from Facebook. Lets face it, most people didn't even really know who he was until the movie about him came out. Only IM and techy circles really knew the name.

I dont think affording is the issue here. The revenue sizes dont matter. its the EBITA.

Well FB cannot acquire Apple for sure as their revenue is not high but the other way round there is defenitely chances and might be apples move into the Web

Oh Yeah... and about Facebook going to Apple... how does that work when they are already in bed with Microsoft? Wouldn't the 1st bid for a buyout be in Microsofts favour? As I understand it, they have a huge share in the company, and I could see a possible Apple sell off being really difficult.

More likely 2011 will be the year of the biggest IPO tech launch in Internet history. The Facebook IPO offer. Just look at all the media and everything that has happened this past year and how the perceived value of facebook has been boosted up by orders of magnitude that are way beyond rational analysis.

As history shows, social sites fade out and a new one fades in. I think it would be in Marks best interest to sell while it is at a good peek. Apple, just like Microsoft would mainly use it for promoting new products.

I agreed with your comment when I first read it. Then the thought popped in my mind. What about that guy who played Fuckerberg in movie, wasnt he playing him on SNL before they did the movie?
IDK I may be wrong about that one.
If I'm right though, you cant say he was unknown if SNL was doing skits about him.


Anyway, IMO I dont think it will happen also because of who the other two board members are.

I don't think Apple will buy Facebook. Maybe both can merge together.

Antitrust laws don't allow this merger to happen, just like they won't allow Google to buy Microsoft or the other way around.
