Pyramid, wheel or mininet...?

I think there all the same you just need to make them as random as possible so that when Google indexes one of your properties they can't associate it easily with the rest of your pyramid, wheel or mininet.

I also think that you need to have a handful of properties that the pyramid, wheel or mininet links to to help channel the link juice towards you money page.

I've noticed and been involved in a lot of talk about these structures and I think that these 3 terms are becoming the same in that you just build a network of links on high PR web2.0 sites in as much as a random fashion as possible. This involves building tiers of web 2.0 properties until you start to see movement in the SERPs and then build backlinks via blog commenting and profile building (Scrapebox & Xrumer :)).

Picture it link a tree: The trunk is your money site, the branches your tier 1 web 2.0 properties, the twigs are your 2nd tier web 2.0 properties, social boomarks and RSS submissions and the leaves are your blog comments and forum profiles. You could even go as far to say that the roots (which connect to your trunk) are the links you build directly to your money site and are a mix of the above.

Now if every page was a tree trunk then your website/websites could be looked at as a forest.

So on that note I'd like to put to bed the pyramids, wheels and mininets and coin the term 'Link Forest' especially one that Googles bots can be overwhelmed in and more importantly get lost in!!

Wow look at my imagination running wild for me (i must have put too much coffee in my cup this morning:)). Maybe I should wrap this up into an ebook and sell for $77 over at WF lol.

I only build links to 301 redirect sites, to cover my tracks and so no-one can see my backlinks, works fine for me and I'm ranking for some very competitive keywords :)

Any kinds of links is good provided you don't leave any footprints for google. Just try to make it as diverse as possible.

There may be many names like link wheel, link pyramids etc, but is is not a new concept. Links within content on a page are considered more valueable by search engines than the ones form the sidebar or footer of a page.

Sorry for being a noob but isn't it really all the same thing?

Don't be sorry for being a noob... everyone was one at some point. There are differences in the actual structure and interlinking with them.

Thank you. bhw is great because of people like you:) iam going to go do some link forests now:D

There's no proven fact that some method is better than the other. You simple CAN'T know 100% what is more effective than the other. You have to test yourself and see what works best for you. Trail and error my friend, trail and error.

I personaly don't think the results differ anything at all between pyramids and (open)linkwheel.

Do you edit your htaccess for the 301 redirects? Do you have blogs or sites? Care to share your 301 redirect code (obviously private data removed!)

Ive been having trouble setting any sort of htaccess code up :(

Randomness is your greatest ally! :peep: Uniqueness is also important.. that is, the degree of uniqueness from one property with another. The greater you build your structure, the more powerful and harder to detect a pattern it will be.

The link tree. Me Like

I like to use what I call a link cloud. You'll be seeing the idea soon in a program that is being released by another BHW member.

Sounds interesting.

There's a few linkwheel services which have popped up recently and I'm swaying more towards BassTrackerBoats system because before these services came up; building linkwheels, whether closed or open, could easily be found. BTB's system creates multiple, unconnected strands of links pointing to any particular target page and you just keep adding more strands until you see movement in the SERP's and the simple equation is that the more competitive the keyword the more strands you'll need to build to both your target page and the strands you previously built.

Although these linkwheel services look impressive with their 4+ linkwheel diagrams if Google can pick up on one property and then find the rest of the network they will most likely shut things down. With BTB's system if Google finds one strand and shuts it down you still have the rest that you built. Now if you link one strand to the next more than likely Google will find them and shut down the lot.

This is my perception of the law of land regarding linkwheels and everything I've read about them has come from this forum. If these massive linkwheel services (and they seem to keep getting bigger and bigger) work then que sera, sera however I think the debate regarding linkwheeling and Google finding one easily that is linking everything together is still ongoing.

Just mix it up. I tend to do all sorts of different types of links, and try different stuctures as well.

I start with building some decent buffer sites (blogs/hubs/wikis etc) then build various different link structures to those.

Then once the sites starting to move up, i add lower quality links direct to the site (plus fresh high quality ones as well), then give all properties a nice big blast of comments.

BassTrackerBoats has a good service, I actually use it. There's a few other good services on here too.

There was a good write up on BHW by someone about linkwheels and pyramids. He went through a lot of detail to explain why linkwheels are not as effective anymore.

Bottom line is with a link wheel you can just follow the link right around and see that it's all linked together. That's why a lot of people have switched to open link wheels instead.

I personally don't believe in the mass hysteria of "being found" and getting "shut down" because of your linkwheels. Sure, if you have a perfect ring of 6 that are linking 1-2-3-4-5-1, all with poorly spun content, then that's obvious, and of course it will be devalued as insignificant.

The correct way to go, whether "linkwheel" or "link pyramid" or "link push" or "link cloud" or "link tree" or "link california-highway-during-rush-hour" is to build your structures out into a large, massive random network over time.. some spun, some not.. some rewritten, some 100% unique.. such as the web is already! Link also out to other places, like a wiki page, or an authority site, or even someone's little personal blog.. and stop worrying about leaking precious linkjuice.. it will only help you in the grand scheme of things! :music:

thank you for all responds iam wondering what better 40 site linked to you site only or pyramid structure consisting of 40 sites

for example
level 1 money site
level 2 10 sites
level 3 30 sites

What would give more juice?
