Private, shared proxys + scrapebox?

Hey guys,
I just picked up scrapebox recently and I've already figured out why everyone pushes for private proxies - actually took me all of 5 minutes to find out .

Anyway, I know the suggested is 10 exclusives, which runs between 20-35$ per month but I was wondering if I can work with 10-15 private but shared proxies. I found a proxy selling site that offers the shared proxies which are allowed to be shared among 15 of it's buyers and no more.

Will this be enough (btw it's $.90 shared vs $3 exclusive each so in my mind its a big deal :] )

what if the shared are banned of the sites u wanna post on because
1 of the 15 has used them on something u might

if u can afford 57$ to buy scrapebox spend the 25$ for 10 proxies

Thanks for the info, but my only dislike is the criticism at the end - its not just $25, its $25/month... Just because we can save up for certain things, doesn't mean we have the money to blow in extension of that...

And certainly my life doesn't revolve around my internet life: I have school, clothes, etc to pay for and I'm not the most successful BHer either....

try 15 shared iif the suck drop them
after 1 month goto private .

that way u tried - no1 here can say what
the success rate will be either way.
as they say u pays ya money u take ya choice.

did u pm the guy who does shared and ask
do these work successfully on s/box did u get
a definitive answer if u cant get 1 - its your gamble

its a lesser of 2 evils pay 10$ for 10 shared that might work
pay 23$ for 10 private that will

@proxygo - Any general time frame private proxies usually last? It'd be a shame to spend $25 only to have them spent the next day.

no - for general stuff should be fine on a month

I believe the OP is referring to my private shared proxy service given the pricing details and user limits that are mentioned.

My shared proxies work perfectly with SB - I have a few users using them with SB already, plus I use them from time to time when I need to run a new SB blast.

Should any of them stop working, just let me know and I'll swap it out for you.

is if they get banned by 1 user on posting niches
b4 this guy used them - but if mr rankin will replace
any that are niche banned b4 using - ide go with that

I'd say better go for Private ones if you do very aggressive commenting or else you can go for the group ones if you small blasts. I always prefer Private ones as with the shared ones they can get burnt pretty fast and can affect your commenting.

well like the post user said its down to his budget
he cant afford the 10-15 privates for around 30$
he can only afford the shared

You need proxies to comment for 2 reasons. First to avoid your domain being banned when many comments from the same ip appear, linking to the same domain. This is how Akismet works. If you want to use SB on WordPress blogs with Aksimet on, you will need not 10 but 1000 IPs for ~50k comments. These are approx. numbers, nobody knows for sure how many comments per domain per IP become critical.

The second reason not to comment without proxies is that webmasters can complain to your ISP for spam.

Regardless of the above consideration, it is never a bad idea to stay anonymous.

I can't test it but I suspect the issue with SB is that it doesn't check sufficiently whether the proxy is down or too slow. It just skips the blog if either is the case and reports failed comment. Which is understandable because making a multithreaded app that is using a common list of proxies and constantly switching them is a real pain. Private proxies are generally fast and rarely down so the commenting is a lot more successful for the above reason.

What this all means is that if you have many public proxies you can use them again and again on the failed comments until all clear. How do you find such proxies? Well, there are many places where big lists are posted daily, even here. A third or so of 1000 are usually sufficiently fast but you need to know which ones. The way I do it is by uploading some very small file (1kB or so) on my web server and check which proxy can download it in less than a second. These will last at least a couple of hours and some survive for months.

A third option besides public and private proxies is to create hosting accounts. Many companies offer packages for $5 or less for the first year. That's one IP for 42 cent/month. Just be careful that you don't end up on the same shared server over and over again. Look around how to tunnel traffic through your webhost and see if it's something for you. It's a great learning experience if you like technicalities.
