Lets say "dogtraining.com" is taken, but trainingdog.com is available will that work SEO wise?

How much do I lose if I take out one letter from the keyword? Ex: dogtrainin.com

SEO wise how would it be ranking these for the search term?

--Thank you

Switching the position of keywords in the domain name matters less than most people think.
Adding words or leaving out letters is way less effective.

thanks buddy. ur share is really helpful for me

Thanks guys, im gonna go with the different order and see what happens

To have keyword in domain name is important but not a rule, if u want to have better chans ranking higher its good to have in name yes.

I was just of google keyword tool and used the example havingsex as a domain and checked the traffic. Then I looked up sexhaving and the results were exactly the same.....This would work just as good for any words.

It matters for exact searches (I mean quoted). "dog training" and "training dog" is something completely different.

It doesn't help as much as people think. There are many more important factors: Link building and on-page SEO to be exact matter more than the domain name. The exception is that .info I think are penalized. So my keyword.com or best keyword.com works great!

an exact match keyword domain will always work better than a non keyword domain given equal amount of other SEO factors.

Sometimes the keyword domain could have less SEO but rank higher

I wouldn't change the order of your keywords and definitely don't remove letters. That makes your targeted phrase completely different.

It's not 100% impossible to rank for the phrase you really want to even if you change the order of your KW in your domain, but it will affect the speed at which you get ranked as well as your overall ranking position. Not to mention it will take a great effort on your part to make sure your content and backlinking efforts reflect what KW phrase you want to rank for.

You would be much better off adding some words to your phrase i.e. "dogtraininginfo.com" or "mydogtraining.com" etc. This is type of domain is alot easier to rank for your original phrase since you still have your original KW phrase intact.

I can only answer on a local level, when I buy taxattorneysandiego it does better that sandiegotaxattorney, I have done this over a thousand times, don't know why, just saying most of the time (not always) it does better. that's with no seo, just the name the proper title and keywords on the sites.

Then I guess I'm going to have to figure out a word to add the the phrase

It doesn't have to be too hard. Just make sure that the word makes sense. The main thing is that your KW phrase is intact. Also, you may want to check out Google Stopwords which are words that Google doesn't count to put it simply. This is good because you can add these to your domain, but Google will filter them out automatically which leaves them just your targeted KW phrase.

Here's a huge list of the most common ones:

So when you have the domain taxattorneysandiego are you ranking high for "tax attorney san diego" or "san diego tax attorney"?

Or are you saying that if you are targeting the keyword "san diego tax attorney" (since that has the most search volume compared to "tax attorney san diego") and the exact match is taken for .com,.net, and .org then you get the domain "taxattorneysandiego" in exact match in com/net/org then you are able to rank that site easily for "san diego tax attorney"?
