I followed 950 people and in 12 hours I've gotten 26 followers. As per most instructions here you generally unfollow those people after two days - I thought the brunt of the followbacks would have been within 12 hours?

My page has a unique custom made background, my profile is short and to the point and my profile pic is well designed (it's not a fake account, it's to a website where I sell uggboots) however my site is not up yet - would this really be the difference between 26 and 550 followers (most people say about 50-60% of ppl will follow back)?

Thanks for any help guys.

Any help with this guys?

are you tweeting with the account.

some ppl dont follow ppl who dont tweer
I have about 14 tweets, though I haven't been tweeting lately - surely tweeting wouldn't make the difference between 26 followers and 550-600 followers?

I get about a 100 for every 800 people that I follow but you also need to pay attention to people that are active with their twitter accounts I get a lot of auto follow back but they are really inactive accounts so I have to get rid of them, try using wef0ll0w.c0m

Where did you hear "50-60% of people will follow back"? I have about 30 twitter accounts covering all different kinds of niches and I've yet to see more than a 10% follow back rate.

yes the day were you wold get 60 to 80 percent follow back are gone unless you have a good niche that people would like to follow you back

I get higher follow back rates if I follow from search results, vs follow from someone else's followers. Perhaps its because search results yield active accounts that just recently tweeted. Someone else's followers might include a bunch of people who followed them last year when and then forgot the account.

Ya I only follow from search results. Following other peoples followers is just a waste of time for the reason you mentioned.

I follow 155 people and 117 people follow me. That's on my real twitter account which I use properly to actually tweet and chat to friends with. What I've found is, the important thing is the content. it's the same as anything else. If you're not providing interesting tweets for people to read then they won't follow you... worse still they won't follow any links from you. there is no reason to follow anyone just because they follow you. They are only interested in keeping close those people who give them the content they are interested in.

Follow rate definitely goes up with:

* the more followers you have - people see you already have a lot of followers and so they think you must be worth following. New accounts have a low follow rate to begin with and then it increases with time / tweets / followers.
* the number of tweets you have - don't start following people until you've filled up your profile a good deal. People won't follow what appear to be brand new empty accounts.
* the quality of your tweets - ie. grammatically correct, interesting content, not nonsense, not gibberish, not all marketing links.

Try to:

* add a nice background / theme, not just a profile pic
* sprinkle in some useful, interesting, non commercial links
* sprinkle in some actual communication eg. replies, hashtags etc - stuff that real users do, not just broadcasting.

People are volunteering to receive your tweets in their feed when they follow you - you have to make it worth their while somehow.

Is it a system with the follow backs I'm new to twitter myself! how can i benefit from follow backs?

I've been getting a but load of followeres here lately....If something isn't working try changing up everything and see if that helps.

Throw some retweets of some celebs or other popular twitter accounts in your mix. The key is to have it look as legit as possible.

Try this :

Make a twitter account, put a pic of a girl in your profile, now your a girl, next thing is that the girl should be a average face and body but a big boobs ratio thing, he he, next is : tweet a couple of pics of her, like this is my vacation and shit like that, then tweet everyday stuff like im boring or my boyfriend left me shit, i have 3 accounts like that and in a 10 days i have 900 followers per profile, im gettin like when i follow 500 people 100-150 follow me back, its ok for me.

Or you could made something up that is usefull and people will follow you anyway.

Thanks a lot for the help guys.

Can tweetattacks automate adding people through search results?

The account I had had a custom profile pic, custom background (it was for a web store) and I got 2500 random followers from those free follower sites, then I started to try and get real followers, followed 2000 people and got 20 followers, fantasic lol.

What works best for those types of things?

Was going to get tweetattacks and load up with 200 accounts but I'm not sure I'll even be able to get people to follow me. Anyone here consistently get more than 60% followback rate? That would be phenomenal.
