FB Account Verifications Question

Does facebook verify ALL accounts by cell phone only or just certain accounts? Can you get a FB account without having a cell phone?

I've not used FB yet so I'm curious after reading about all this phone verification stuff.

You need PVA to create applications, post on fan page walls and many more. You can verify by CC/VCC too

It can be done with Cellphone. They'll send you a text with a code to your cellphone, you need it to confirm the code to verify the account

Yes, you can use a regular phone. You choose the option to have them call you, and it gives you the code on the phone.

Guess they don't do that anymore. Evidently you can only get the verification code thru a mobile device or have an affiliation with a college/university network email account according to their FAQ.

I tried using a google voice number since one can text to it but the FB confirmation won't go thru that way.

I have a cell phone but I ain't gonna put that number out online anywhere.
