Hi all

First post on BHW

So I purchased SB and I have some doubts. Yes I used, "search" button but did not find it.

1.-I use SB "check indexed" function for my Backlinks "Yahoo indexed"

Then I can see 58 backlinks idexed ( on SB)

However if I go to Yahoo site explorer I can only see 6 indexed backlinks. How is this possible???

2.- When I purchased Sb I thought I would be able to scrape thousands of links.

However if I harvest with custom footprint "Powered by vBulletin" looking for forums, for example, with "G00gle" "Yaho0" "B1ng" and "A0l" ticked I get about 400 URLs.

Is this normal? Shouldnt I get more URLS?

I run SB with free harvested free proxies, can this be the reason?

Thanks in advance for your help

You sure you used the search button??

Scrapebox does what its meant to do, so you're going to have to better understand what its used for before asking questions.

ie. watch the usage videos, looplines videos, read the BST thread, reuse the search button, etc...

Anyway! Because they're quick and easy i'll try to answer your questions...

First, yes, free proxies aren't the greatest and it would most likely be beneficial to purchase a set of private proxies. (that didn't come up in search?)

The link checker function checks to see how many links you have against your blog list. This means, whatever it finds is your live link on a given website. This DOESN'T mean that search engines have come along, crawled that website, and indexed the changes to that website, including your link!

Does that make sense?

There's a difference between having a backlink, and having a backlink that search engines know about!

And, your 2nd question...I assume you meant 'scrape thousands of url's' (not links). And yes, sb can. It can scrape millions. Even with public proxies. You may just need to work on your footprints.

(btw, when you used the footprint "powered by vbulletin", you did have the radio button 'custom footprint' checked, right?)

Good luck to ya, but use the search button again, watch the usage videos on the main website, watch looplines videos, and visit the bst thread!

If you don't have private proxies it kills your search results.
I have private proxies and don't use them when harvesting. Why would you use them when harvesting, makes no sense at all.

Private proxies actually do make a difference for harvesting. Certain search terms can time out and get skipped. If you are a low-level harvester, it may not make a big difference, but when scraping thousands of keywords/millions of results, it matters.
