This forum has brought me so many ideas and saved me tons of money because we get to actually check a product and use it without having to shell out $100's of bucks!

So I though I would let you guys in on a little secret that has brought me in some decent cash with very little effort.

It involves using a script that is available free on these forums called build a niche store (BANS).

BANS allows you to get rss feed's from eBay and put's them in a nice little store front looking website.

If somebody clicks on you ebay affiliate link through your bans store then it will take them directly to ebay. Now if they actually purchase something you get half the ebay fee's. But that isn't all, if they have never signed up for ebay and they go through your link sign up for ebay and purchase something or win a bid you not only get half of the ebay fee's but you also get a flat $25 bucks! Sound's pretty good right?

Here are the steps:

1. Download bans from here, do not pay for it!

2. Figure out what you want to sell using the bans store. The best way I usually go about this is see what is currently a hot seller at ebay pulse hxxp://pulse.e**bay.c*om/.

3. Now once you have picked something to sell the next step is to setup a domain name. I would recommend that you get one that has the product name in the address but this isn't a must. Also I would only purchase a .info domain name because one they are cheap and two you are going to have to buy a few of these every month(more on why later).

4. Install the bans software on you new domain. I'm not going to give details on how to do this. Just check out the bans website and they have tons of walkthroughs.

5. This is the important part and the part most seem to screw up. So after you have bans up and running on your domain name server you need to start setting up your store. Again I'm not going to go through step by step instructions because they are plenty on the bans site. Here is the important part. You must set up all the categories yourself. DO NOT go with the ebay categories that will automatically be setup for you. If you make a store about coach purses chances are their will be quite a few others that also have this same store and the search engines will never notice your store. So for example if you setup a coach bans store then you could make categories for the different types of coach purses, or the different styles and colors.

6. So how do we drive traffic to this brand new spiffy bans store? Ever heard of craigslist? It is a phenomenal way to drive traffic to any site not just bans. Now you could do this manually or using software that you can find all over these forums. I would highly recommend software. you will get tons more ads out their and much better results then doing them all by hand. Besides who has the time to make 30 post to craigslist by hand not me.

7. How do you make your craigslist ad's stick? This is exactly what I do. I go to my bans store and go to the main categories. I copy all the titles for the listings. I then put them into a excel sheet. Then I use excel to filter out all the duplicate results. Next I take these headlines and use them as the headlines for craigslist. This eliminates having to think up 30 different headlines just so your ads will stick. As for the body of the posting I usually just put something like this.

For more information and pictures....

Go to http://yourbansstore.com/#1123123123

Why all the numbers. Because from what I understand it takes craigslist longer to ban your domain name if you ad numbers to the end.

Some other craigslist tips are:
1. use a proxy server or dial up connection to change you ip address every 5 posts, if you don't once craigslist figures out what you are doing all your ads will be taken down and anything you post from then on out will be ghosted.
2. Add random numbers and characters in the title and switch out the title names daily.
3. Get a couple of .info domains to use as redirects when craigslist bans your domain name(which they eventually will).

How much money can you make from doing this?

Well the first month of trying this and actually figuring out how to get my ads to stick and selling a pretty cheap item I banked $225 bucks. I know this isn't thousands of dollars but keep in mind I only post to craigslist a couple times a week because of time issues and only usually post about 30 ads. In the first week of this month I'm already at $100 bucks and I just have posted once to craigslist this month.

You could easily expand of this and setup multiple stores. If I had setup 10 store and promoted them all equally it wouldn't be to far fetched to say that I coudl have pulled $2250! Now that is some decent bank!

So that is about all guys. Let me know if this helps.

Pls, don't forget to say "thanks" :D

Hi jeeper, its the software at hxxp://www.ad*soncraigs.c*m, you owe me a million dollar. :)

brazilian, I saw this method before but you gave us a detailed step by step information on how to do it. Good contribution and nice to have you around in BHW.

This sounds good and all but what happens when eBay kicks you out of EPN for spamming CL? Those guys are certainly capable of reporting you and it wouldn't surprise me if they did.

What are you doing to prevent this?

Just some helpful advise here. If your conserned about your domains geting banned from CL you can buy say a .com through go daddy (shoot, use your own affiliate link while your at it) then as you go through the checkout process they will try to sell you the .org .net and .info for cheaper than if you tried to buy all four of them, i think this past week i was picking up mydomain.com/org/net/info for around 20 bucks for all four. Then at least you'll look more professional with the same domain.

You can also put in, for more info respond or whatever, then have an automailer (use outlook and have a timed responce, like a few hours) send the domain to their email. Then your domains wont get banned. You wont get quite as many hits using the email/autoresponder, but thats if your worried about get then on the list.

I have tried to post to CL so many times and not even once i got a ad posted, nice method though if you can get your post true on CL

This method definitely works. I've been doing it for the last 3 months, with a few slight twists, and got it up to $500+ a month for doing less than 30 minutes of work a day while I drink my morning coffee :)
If avid craigslist users had any life other than to police posts, it would probably be an extremely profitable income stream with little effort

what is wrong with this method? It is nothing blackhat.. All you are doing is posting ad..

It was against CJ's TOS, and it is still against the EPN TOS. Im not going to pretend to remember the exact verbiage, but it's something like "Traffic from third party sites which do not allow affiliate links is prohibited".

CL does not allow affiliate links.

therefore,

this method is prohibited.

I know this is "black hat world", and if you want to risk it great, but people who attempt to try this should at least understand that they could be banned from EPN

EDIT: If i remember correctly, this IS legal on usfreeads*com

I can only guess, but if you're copying the images, headlines, descriptions word for word, perhaps that's what cpugeek was referring to...

Technically the traffic comes from your BANS site, not craigslist directly, so it's OK as far as I see it. Posting your website url is not the same as posting an affiliate link.

yeah, I used "UsfreeAd". Grab nice photo from your niche ebay listings and post it up at USfreead. I got some emails and replies from ppl too.

The safer way is using CL to get traffic to your B*A*N site and start cashing in. I believe that in this way E*PN would only see traffic that is going to e*b*ay through your B*A*N's site.

Unacceptable Placements.

1. You will not place Links or Promotional Content in third-party newsgroups, message boards, blogs, comments, link farms, forums, classified ad services, counters, chatrooms or guestbooks unless it is allowed by their terms and conditions.

It is against TOS. eBay may not catch you but the clowns at CL will certainly report you. As stated above, this is a blackhat forum so go for it....just be aware of the ramifications if/when you are caught.

I still stand firm, promoting your BANS site is NOT directly promoting ebay affiliate links or promotional content. You're promoting your SITE, not ebay. If you post any ads with your affiliate link in them, then yes, you're in violation. Don't get confused

A good way to play with them some more time is to have many EPN accounts
