just interested in knowing whats a good click rate for banners like CAP such as "get a free laptop" or whatever if it is A) pretty relevant or B) totally irrelevant.

Thank you

(PS its % number of visit that actually click the banner, not necessary complete the offer)

who cares ? .. you can pay per click whenever someone clicks on your banner with adwords .. so clickthrough rate is irrelevant ..

Number one that's a completely idiotic question because it's relevant on so many factors, it's obviously going to be pretty low though.

I know it's irrelevant, I just wanna give my AM a number when he ask how many visit I get to my site per month.

If I tell him the real answer then it wont make sense and he won't accept me as a affiliate or ban me

The number of visits the site you signed up with gets per month is irrelevant, You can easily tell him that you buy ad space on hundreds of other sites each month and direct much of that traffic to CPA offers.

a ctr of 0,1%-0,5% is okay (so it means 0,001-0,005 (1-5 out 1000 visitors click)), if it is totally irrelevant.

but i am a noob. guys, correct me if i am wrong.

Banners are what IM evolved away from because of the poor CTR compared to PPC, text and contextual ads that have come along since. People mostly ignore them UNLESS there are things like sexy body parts, human faces, red text, or words against a white background (to make people think it's content).

Half a percent is decent banner CTR, given all the above, and you can use Gimp or other graphics programs to piece together a fake Adsense-type ad to eke out a higher rate. Using contextual or text link ads will normally get you about a 3% CTR for a decently constructed website, higher if you tweak.

On the banner ads we run on a few networks, Our CTR is around a .25% which is pretty much the norm across most of the sites. A few of the banners will end up getting a .50% CTR, but that's really rare.

Text Links for us have had a much better conversion rate.
