Those are sales for that period that were not made via an affiliate but direct purchases from the site, so there is no hop recorded.

With the second one, a cookie is put on the buyer computer so that you get the referral payment. Even if the buyer decides to come back later in a few days to make the purchase (assuming they dont clear their temp files).

The first method, you will get the sale as long as the buyer doesnt change their mind and come back later since no cookie is created. Also if the buyer takes out your affiliate name on the url (for whatever reason) then you lose that sale.

You have two possibly better solutions. Either create an extra page on your website and use the redirect widget (assuming Wordpress site) to redirect that page to your affiliate link. You then use the redirect page (call it something friendly like /officialsite) link on your banners and hyperlinks.

You could also set the /officialsite page on your website to redirect via your host accounts url redirect section.

I didn t know about the neg rep rule that you just explained but seriously man , maybe my English just happened to be bad , but did I insult all the JR VIP on my previous post ?? Because I got another negative rep from another one which of course I can't tell who he is .

I don't know that I would call it a rule, it's just how the rep system seems to work. There's really very little explanation anywhere regarding the rep system, I'm just pointing out things I've observed. So like I said before I doubt skagenweb gave you a neg rep. Anytime I've recieved a rep from someone with less than 10 rep it always shows a grey icon and counts as a neutral 0 rep (instead of green for plus or red for neg). Also once someone gives a rep they can't just give the same person another rep for awhile. So the second neg had to be from someone different than the first. Just don't worry about getting a neg rep, work at making more good posts and your rep will take care of itself.

As far as the screenshot goes, I don't think having 0 hops and 3 sales necessarily means it's fake. If the vendors main site ranks high in the serps then i would expect a lot of traffic that never recorded a hop. If the salespage is good then I imagine a lot of those visitors would convert to sales. There's also some affiliates that like to make their own salespage and link directly to the cb checkout. Those direct links will count a sale for the affiliate but won't have a corresponding hoplink either. I don't have any products of my own so I don't know what the vendor reporting stats look like, but it makes sense it might show as 0 hops and X sales. If a cb vendor that also gets direct traffic to their salespage says it doesn't look like that then there might be some concern otherwise I don't see that it looks shady at all.

Getting back to the topic of the thread though...

The phonenumberscan thing seems like it might be a cool product. I'll have to do some keyword research to see how much competition there is, but it might be something worth trying a promotion for.
