My 1000th post and some lessons I've learned

Thank for the tips. You always provide informative posts.

Thanks - appreciate it. Lots more where that came from!

To everyone who PMed me: I was up until 6am replying to them all last night, so check your inboxes :D

Thanks for the motivation. I was afraid to make move until now, but in the past month I have made move with my JV (friend) and have made small amount. We plan to invest it back into what you called "Business" and not a method.
One thing I got you to congratulate for is you TIP 5.
I have seen many doubters including my family members who think its useless, but with the income generated over last month I managed to slap their words back into their face.
Doubter & Haters. We even have those on IM who believe some type of work is near impossible or wont even work. All I gotta say is test it yourself and believe in your result, dont alway rely on others to give you their answers as they can be wrong which would mislead you.

Just keep building and working on it. It's not easy when you start out, and as with anything, the first dollar is the hardest.

Try reinvest whatever you can into building sustainable revenue streams. It's tempting to spend it all on beer but it's much easier if you have cash to invest each month.

5) Ignore the haters and doubters. Your friends and family WILL doubt you. They will say what you are doing is stupid, scamming, pointless, risky, short-term so you just have to get on with it. The best way to prove them wrong is to make money sitting at home in your underwear while they are slaving away at their crappy day jobs that they all hate. Just remember that most people don?t understand what we do, so don?t worry if they don?t get it.

True !

I made some of my friends and family jealous when they saw how much ive earned online in the past 4 months, as they where going everyday to work on those crappy jobs , I made just equal a friend makes in one year at daily job!
But from where I am the poorest job equals 250$ a month!

And i have much to learn im just at the beginning!

I think I'm kinda in the same boat as you. I also registered here awhile back...actually stumbled across it for downloads, but wasn't active until a few months ago too. Finally found a bit of success, and now I gotta ramp it up and get off my lazy ass to diversify and progress like you did.

Congrats on your success!

on #5, how do you tell others what you do without going into all the detail?

Still haven't quite figured this out, and really depends how I'm feeling or who I'm talking to. I tend to just say I'm a small business broker which most people seem to understand. Most people get confused as soon as you mention the word "website", lol.

Congrats for the 1000 Meathead1234, where do you find the
time to make money, when you spend all your time here? :) !!!

I would like to say something to reinforce point 7)

Code:
7) Build a business, don?t focus on methods. This is especially important for those who want to be in IM full-time. Find what you are good at and build a business around that. There?s nothing worse than putting all your time and effort into a ?method? that dies to $0 a week later.

I have to admit, I've been guilty of not following this one and I
suffer from it now, but I'm taking steps to remedy this situation.

Don't do as I did, go chasing the latest and greatest methods,
without having really given the last method you tried a real
chance to fail or succeed.

Don't take on that investing in Business Opportunities mentality,
trap / cycle!

Take on the building a business mentality and only focus on those
activities that may bring your revenue.

I aspire to follow Paretos law in this:-

Focus on the 20% of the tasks that bring you forward and leave
the other 80% of the things that just suck up your time and energy.
This is a law from nature... do a Gugle on it!!!

Choose what battles you fight and choose your battle ground carefully
and stay proactive and work smart and hard... nothing comes from
nothing. Don't put your eggs into one basket like I did in my second last
venture, you could miss the boat with other opportunities and find that
you are on a sinking ship without a life jacket or boat!!!

This following is something I learnt from Meatheat1234 and his partner
and their words echo in my ears all the time. Its so obvious, but worth
gold to me. Anyway to paraphrase them:

(When dealing with multiple websites - they were speaking in the context
of working on sites for flipping, but this applies for all situations)

Adopt a task (& project) based approach so as not to get bogged down
by any one site or job.

Finally take small steps to reach the big goals, for example, don't
necessarily aim straight for the stars. You might intimidate yourself and
get disheartened. Aim for the nearest mountain top and then the moon
and then maybe the stars!

You could list all your outgoings and take the smallest one and think to
yourself e.g. - What can I do to pay for this? What income stream could I
generate to cancel out this out going? and work through the list. This is
what I'm trying right now and the idea is that I can slowly build more
income than my outgoings and become free.

It is a long hard road that stretches in front of me, but I have already
seen my first minor successes (offline local clients - in case you ask)
and it is important to see small successes as I hope that they will
encourage me to make bigger and bigger ones.

Cheers MH for the inspirational speech!!!

Regards,

Dave

Our company has a variety of strategies in place, we dabble in a bit of everything. We're currently focusing on diversifying revenue streams with some long term projects. Just master one method/website and move onto the next and keep on building!
