Do sites selling replicas get shut down by hosting?

Right now I'm about to make a site selling replica items (thinking about it), juts wondering if it can get shut down if the company sees and reports it to my host (planning on using volusion). Anyone have any experience with this that can help me out?

Cheers mate, will in the future. What if I'm already set up with volusion and ready to go? Will I face problems if people contact volusion and inform them what I'm doing?

from what i understand if your hosting company is not offshore, anyone can contact them and ask for your info, and because of legal actions they MUST and most likely will give up your information.

Damn, that sucks. Anyone confirm this? Also, how do I make my domain as private as possible, when I type my domain in whois I can see all my info, how do I make it private? And other steps? Thanks guys.

Lol, nice. Can I change it once I've registered? I used godaddy to register the domain and use volusion as the shopping software.

If someone is chasing you down and is going to be requesting the whois / registering information, they're more than likely also going to request payment details, etc. They're not too silly, I am sure they know you can input fake information when registering and get away with it. It becomes a little harder to fake the payment method information though, unless you have a fake PayPal that is being funded through funds other than your bank account (because then they can find you via your real bank account - unless your bank account is also faked)

All in all, if they really want - they can probably find you.

Maybe you should take a look into a VPS or ded***icated server to host your site, in some place like, lets say, Russia? Not sure if it will work, but it is a suggestion.

As I said a few times I've already chosen and configured my site using hosting in the US, that's why I'm asking...
