You probably know this, but for the people who don't, it will come in very useful.

Godaddy lately has been giving out $1 .com etc, and all kinds of stuff for really cheap, but they require you to enter your Credit Card, because they add a package (ie website builder) which is a "trial" in the $1 offer, and after the trial has passed (most likely 7 days), you will AUTOMATICALLY be charged for 1 month subscription (auto-renewal), so always "remove" these builders etc, all except the domain itself from your cart.

Yes and they call the phone number you sign up with. When I talked to them they mentioned that I was signed for site builder for free for two months. I told them to cancel it.

They're ASSHOLES. They're constantly trying to bill me for THREE of those crappy packages, and I'm pretty sure I removed them from cart every time I bought domains.

Yeah, they did the same to me. I asked their support to issue a refund or I will be filing a complaint against them and get a chargeback.

They immediately canceled the site builder Bull*hit and refunded me the $10. Get tough with them and they will do what you want.

Ahaha :) no need to say that to me, I really get pissed when people try to trick me or my friends, Fatcow is another "must watch" , they tried to trick me over free domain with host thing, almost raped them :P. (they gave me domain.fatcow.com (idiots)) , but I got my real domain ahah ::D

All you have to do : when you update the page with the coupon code, try to remove the product and keep only the domain name.

I always remove it but I really hate how godaddy upsells everything. I prefer namecheap but I'm still forced to use godaddy sometimes since I buy expired domains form time to time :(. Their prices are ok with the proper coupons at least, it's just annoying how much they promote their other products.

It's like all web-services companies.. They sell cheap and they knock you down with the automatic upsells..

Just unbox anything always and you will be safe.

Thanks, just went into the account and canceled. Thanks again for the heads up

If you own a credit card, Then you must have sense to check your cart properly.

Yes, thats why these coupons which give stuff for really cheap, accept on Credit card.

lol .. i buy using my VCC's .. in which i put exactly 2$ to buy the domains .. the VCC expires in 2 days .. haha let them charge watever they want from the expired VCC ..

anyway .. everytime .. i carefully remove those crappy trial stuff ..

just watch out before you press the confirm button that you have all the filters to charge you $$$$ in the future...always good to use paypal with godaddy..that means u get ur money back but loose ur domains..

i already vented w/punk daddy in an earlier post...

I have had so many problems with them. I can't even begin to list them all. Just a few weeks ago when I was on the phone complaining to them, they had the nerve to try to sell me more stuff... and I told the guy, why would I want to purchase more from you when you haven't even fixed this problem that I have yet? I have already paid in advance for another year, but after that I'm done.

Good Info. I recommend staying away from go daddy at all costs. Its worth paying full price for a domain vs. the $1 but being stuck with Godaddy

If you register for a new account when you signup, they call you to talk to you about it. So tell them then to cancel it.

Otherwise, they're sneaky and really douchey.

Same here, this is one smart thing to do. GoDaddy is notorious for trying to upsell crap when you buy a domain.
