A purchased domain with PR will not retain that PR after you buy it and add your own stuff.. google is a registrar and will notice it is now owned by a different person, and will remove any PR/age it might have acquired. You will benefit from the domain name (if it is a match to your niche), but you will need to build PR yourself.

The best tool for finding PR domains is Domain Research Tool. Costs around $200 and its absolutely worth it, it can download big lists of expiring domains from several providers, scan for everything you can think of, filter, export and much more.
A year back I spend some time buying PR domains and monetizing thru backlinks*com, it was pretty easy and low-risk. But you must have big budget to make solid income, if you can't afford purchasing atleast 1000domains to start with its probably waste of time.

What the hell are you talking about?? So if another company buys yahoo, the pr will go to zero? Yeah,right. Pr value has nothing to do with a registrar or whoever is registering. As long as you have the backlinks, you will benefit from it. The reason why some domains lose the pr is because the seller is a scammer and builds the backlinks on a 302 referrer. Once you buy the domain, they redirect the referrer to another domain and you lose everything. That's why you should not count on a high pr rank, you should consider how aged it is.

I have an experience and was dupe when all 900 links were gone 4-6 days after a purchase, even the age wont matter if the seller is a scammer and knows what he is doing you hands are tied

That must hamper a little but if you have enough good content like present yahoo, still you'll not loose your PR, dropped domain loose PR mainly because 1. they don't have good content like old site, 2. it was a fake PR or hijacking PR, i mean, just redirected from a PR ed website, it can be hacked that way, you know and 3. new buyer just concentrate to sell back links, so after a while it considered as a spam.....

I just don't use any paid solution, instead i follow droppeddomain.us and another site that is offline from a weak ago, I register a PR ed domain if i got a good name, i mean a very good name, i never choose a scamy domain to register, instead i search for a nice dropped domain without PR.
Thats about all I was saying, don't get your heart racing over some high pr domain, because once you change page urls and content, as well as not doing whatever it was that the original owner was doing to get/keep their high pr, you will see your pr drop. And yes, google knows when a high pr site is transfered to a new owner, whether that causes a super high impact or not, I dont know. I would just be happy buying/obtaining a nice keyword matched domain name.

I use scrape box. I go to godaddy expired domain auctions. Copy and paste the list of expired domains (500 at a time) into excel and remove the other columns besides the domain names, then I run them through scrapebox's PR checker. Make sure you check for fake PRs from redirects.
The good thing about godaddy's auctions is they sell the domains before they actually drop so they only show as transferred in the history.
I picked up a couple of PR5's this way for $10 plus fees.
I could write a php script that does the same thing automatically but I'm lazy and my current method works fine.
