A 40-year-old man accused of having blown Tax on multi-million. The money came partly from pirated iPhones.
Police say the man blown Tax on large sums of money for electronics stores. He has sold about 1400 iPhones for telecom operators or through his shop.
Purchased in China
The phones are bought in China and as UNT, it is clear in emails and text messages to some of them are pirated copies.
A total of about 20 million moved to foreign countries and Tax has now decided that the husband should pay 16 million in unpaid taxes and penalties. When the man learned that the Tax Board were investigating his company, he paid a "goalkeeper" to take the hit.
Telephone operator calms customers
The man sold including iPhones, one of Tele 2's suppliers. Tele 2, confirm the connections between the accused and some of their phones. They have launched an investigation but have not found anything to suggest that they purchased the phones are copies or that customers should worry about.
"But if it should turn out that these are pirated copies, it is unacceptable and when we take our responsibility," said Roy Oldmark, spokeswoman for Tele 2.
