OK so I played with my title tag (i followed some ibp sugestions) Removed some of the words and now after google indexing it my serp droped one page from 5 to 6 should I change it back to the way it was?
My take on it is the following...
Playing with the title alone can (may) get some sites in trouble, and I speak based on my own experience tweaking the title
as often as 3-4 times in a month to see what would happen. I had site moving from first page to 8th page because of it (sites built for testing).
Based on your website "type," meaning, dynamic (CMS) or static (HTML,CSS), you can get crawled back fairly easily. If it happens to be
just a matter of a few days, it
may seem you are changing the tag(s) too often, which it's not good.
In case you do want to change it back, fine... but why not make it better than before? I would say, optimize the content as well.
Make the content "more" original than before, giving a kind of reason for the change and at the same time presenting Google or whoever, that
you should (could) be reindexed without a problem because it's a good "new" content
Personally, I wouldn't change only the title this time. I would add some value to the content and an "optimized value" to your rankings...
My $0.03 cents
All the best
