Well the most interesting thing is, if a real mass of users is willing to switch to FB email instead of MSN/Y/G and for e-mail marketers, it will be VERY interesting how easy/hard it will be to hit the inbox.

IF FB is stupid enough to automatically make your profile-name to your e-mail (e.g. fb.com/steve.stevens = [email protected]) you suddenly could build up huge maillists and send buttloads of email

They HAVE to do it that way. Cant do it any other way. No way you can have facebook.com/markzuckerberg

and I go and get email [email protected] NO WAY will they let that happen.

if you pick a vanity, then they will have to lockup that fb.com email account, so it is not STUPID at all. No other way to do it.

What I ment was they would be extremely stupid to automatically create an fb.com email for every user automatically based on their fb username - cause it would make it extremely easy to build huge email-lists

But what if they make it so you can't use a Gmail account anymore, like eBay made it so you can only use PPal

So if they made it that you had to have a registered FBmail account it would actually help them control their system.

I have said from the start this is NOT Facebooks area. They are going to make a huge mess here and Yahoo, MSN, Google are all sitting back watching them about to leave a creater in the Internet.

The big email providers of today have been in it for a long time and know alot about email.
