Article Uniqueness When Submitting To Directories

If I submit an article to a bunch of article directories, does each article have to be unique? Since I'm spinning articles for web 2.0 sites, I don't want to have to spin a whole other set for directories if I don't have to.

What are your opinions on this?

Yes, it have to be unique, otherwise all your backlinks won't get counted

It is better to spin them, but not an absolute must. I've been doing article marketing for years and have plenty of top 10 rankings on extremely competitive keywords. It just takes a lot longer if they aren't unique.

Just do yourself a favour and stick to the top 5-20 article sites. Most article directores just like most website directories are considered gypsy links by Google - and in my experience don't do much for your rankings. I use the top 10 article directory sites but not for backlinks, but for targeted traffic.

I think Google will count the same content as 1 backlink

So if all your 10 articles are the same, I think it's a duplication so it will be counted as 1.

I agree to wickedguy, articles should be unique.

If you don't have dedicated spinners, stick to the top 10 directories and just write good articles.

If you can spin efficiently, then send the spun versions to as many directories as you can. Aim for 70% uniqueness.
