Hey - do not waste your time with EWA private network.
First - there is nothing private there.
Second - do not expect to get a support by their affiliate managers - actually there are only two guys who are busy 25h/day. And they told me they are not allowed to review affiliate websites, lol
I have an account at EWA, made some money , but I requested they to keep money and close my account.
WHY?
1. They do not like PayPal. Please read www dot ewatrax dot com/payments.php
2. Most of products they promote are free trials. Do you know how many affiliate programs are closed because of these free trials? The last one i know is the HerbalRevenue.
3. There are no resources. There are some banners but nothing else.
4. You have to apply for each product. Being approved by EWA does not mean you are approved to promote anything.
Actually i can write at least 37 more reasons why you should NOT join EWA. But i think it is enough just to say - DO NOT JOIN.
I can give you my account for free - there are some bucks there.
Take my word -stay away from EWA

Aye, you do indeed need a referral for EWA.
It's private in that it does need a referral for entrance. The thing is they are very blackhat friendly, in just that as long as they are making money they don't really care.
They do have AM's now, though I will admit that it is often very hard to get in touch with either Harrison, Ryan, or Jared, but the AM's aren't usually too bad about it. Their service in general is pretty poor, but there are plus sides. Weekly standard payouts are VERY nice for those making under 1,000 per week per network, which rapes the hell out of net 15-30 at most other networks. Also they are indeed very competitive with payouts, so honestly I send a lot of my traffic there when able. Aside from these two points though, those making adequate volume definitely should consider some of the other bigs as listed (I mostly use Hydra and W4 aside from EWA).

If your a solid sending affiliate I can give you my referral. Both EWA and BLam have been doing thousand$ a day for me. There are tons of options out there to chose from all with their ups and downs, and for that reason I like to dip here in there in a larger group of networks, it allows you to really niche up the verticals your are trying to get. So hit me up if you need a referral and your not some carding tard of some bs like that.
