Scrapebox fast poster and VMWare

Am I right in supposing the fast poster is not a poster at all, but something that prepares you to slow post on urls that dont need captchas?

Also, while dooing my first scrapebox run, i encountered a number of avast warnings, obviously, because among the 27000 pages looked up, there were a few bad eggs. Does this justify having to run it in vmware? Is it really dangerous to run it on your normal pc? (im trying to rationalise myself out of running it in another OS in VM since i'd be losing a good chunk of RAM...)

vmware might be the best solution. I just use av + antispyware etc. If shit happens, format and rinse and repeat.

We are doing unhealthy things irl, why not with sb ?

IMHO run a decent security app (you should be doing that any way while bhatting) like KIS and you'll be okay. Throw in regular MBAM scans if you want to feel extra safe.

VM's are cool because if and when they get infected you can nuke them easily enough, but OTOH they eat up some of your system resources.

Yeah, a VMware session will slow you down, I get the same warnings with Avast when running other directory submission apps. Downloading the page should be minimal risk but I am beginning to wonder how long it will be before some hacker writes an auto-execute exploit to take advantage of us greedy blackhat backlinkers.

I got a 16 gig monster computer running 64 bit Windows 7 on a 250 gig SSD. I often run SB and other seo apps on multiple VMware sessions and I do not notice any slowing down.

Is it only going to slow down low to mid range systems?

16 gigs...
mine is 4...
so daytime i could only afford, barely, 1 gb to surf while it runs...
nightime i guess i could throttle it to the full 4...

btw, how do pcs react if you put the vmware session to full pc ram, does the real machine crash?

It's a simple matter of computer power - a virtual machine takes a portion of your system's resources and uses those to power the virtual instance. Yes, if you have a very beefy machine, it will be able to run more vm's, but each one will take some your machine's resources.

And you can't put all of the machine's RAM to a VM session, the host machine has to have some resources to use for itself.

Not saying it's not worth trying, virtualization is kind of cool but with 4GB RAM you're going to be limited as opposed to say a kajillion jigawatts of RAM and a flux capacitor PSU.

I run a vm in a linux os i never get anyproblems, bounce eveything through tor and use proxies

I also plan to get a SSD 512GB drive in a few months. I know performance will jump through the roof.

Yes try using vmware or virtualbox. Depending on your cpu and ram requirements you can adjust the settings from single core up to 4 cores.

Virtualbox is more secure than VMWare and has way less memory leaks. I use it myself when I don't want to install something on my physical machine.

No! Fast poster is just what it sounds like. If it doesnt post, you are doing something wrong.

virtualbox = free (opensource/gpl) virtualisation program
vmware = another virtualisation program with some free versions, but you have to buy most versions

a "new" computer is virtualised here with no connection to your normal OS.


sandbox = "tool" to disable/filter read/write access to your system. So the program has its own enviroment. Like chroot on Linux/Unix.

For my part, I use Scrapebox on my computer. I have virtualbox but I can't use licence in two places !!! I make the choice to use directly in computer because i'am short with my ram (3gb) with virtualisation...
