:)

The 6-6*6 problem is good for school going kids! ;) This is why so many are getting the "right" answer... But it is simply not great for any grown ups! For example, ask this problem to any shop owner anywhere on this planet and he will pull out his calculator and give the obvious answer... and then go back to counting the day's earnings...

Don't call that shop owner stupid because he gave a "wrong" answer, OK? :) Because he still earns decent money to provide everything for his school going children and the school fees... The same case with almost 99% people on the street who go to work and earn decently :D ...

... Except of course the brilliant school-going kids!:D

Infinity. Anything multiplied by 0 is infinity, BUT we generally call it 0.

Somewhere I read that a major war took place over a lady sometime back. ;) Here we already have a warlike situation over "nothing" (zeroooooooooooooooo) :D

maybe if you put $ in front of them, the result will be different :D
$6-$6*$6=:bike:

Sure you can divide by zero. Get 5 apples, divide them amongst 0 people and see with how many apples you are left with. Also see if the universe ends.

How many? Being a coder, one would expect you would actually use hard logic for this one.
5/1 = 5
5/0.1 = 50
5/0.01 = 500
etc.
yet even if it asymptotically goes to infinity, the limit does not exist on R and the result is "undefined". I understand that the notion of "undefined" can be irritating to people, but hey, shit happens. Undefined on R, defined on other metric spaces (see wikipedia, where it says In higher Mathematics).

("cannot" is such a scary word for mathematicians)

Urban myth. We actually have proof that we cannot prove everything. How f4cking cool is that?

LMAO
First grade maths - Better be emberassed when you have this wrong :)

I think that atleast 10% of those would have chosen in a hurry or like answering such a simple question. So according to me only 14% of them are weak in maths. Remaining 10% would have not even thought about it for a second. May be this is the major reason why many fail in IM without giving a proper look on the methods. Thanks to dotsrus for a good thread.

So if BHW is to represent the general consensus of all Internet Marketers, 45.18% of all Internet Marketers don't know the order of operations (or don't care to because they're just that rich).

Its just epic. 50% fail in 4th grade math exercise. I dont blame you. Fortunately you dont need math in basic IM.

Whoever answered something OTHER THAN -30 is an IDIOT, sorry.

6 - 6 * 6 = 6 - (6*6) = 6 - 36 = -30

The use of brackets insinuates that this part needs to
Be undertaken first, but there are no brackets, therefore this part is undertaken second.

6 - 6 * 6 is not the same as 6 - (6*6)

Very nice
We actually have http://www4.ncsu.edu/unity/lockers/users/f/felder/public/kenny/papers/godel.html that we cannot prove everything. How f4cking cool is that?
This one is interesting and 100% true but profs hate it more than they hate kids, animals, and flowers.

The reality is, a theory gets accepted only if it can't be disporven and not if it's proven (because we can't prove anything but we can disprove pretty much). Like in (Euclidean) geometry, it fells apart the moment someone disproves its postulated assumptions which are conveniently called non-provable.

And here we have kids like PurpleLaze and so many others believing that there is only one kind of math, namely the 4th grade type. Reminds me of 4th grade
