best way to monetize 1000+ users veiwing a live stream?

Good afternoon fellow BHers. Looking for some ideas. I'm able to get 1000+ viewers to a live stream 3 times a week. It will be streamed live using justin.tv or something similar.

I'm wondering what would be the best way to monetize this?

Maybe a content gateway after so many minutes. If it is something that they really want to see, you'll definitely make some good coin off of this.

I'm not sure if you can do content gateway on Justin.tv but I have a better suggestion;


Wednesday I was watching the Champions League on Justin.Tv, found a channel that streamed fast, high quality and IN SPANISH (Better language for soccer than english) Anyways, it was perfect and you usually don't find this good ever for free on live games...

Anyways, after 5 to 10 minutes the streamer took off the video (while keeping the audio, which proved he was steal streaming the video) And instead of the video he just posted instructions to go to his website and install a toolbar and keep watching the game.


Anyways, I was so pissed but so hooked... that even I know this was BlackHat I decided to go to his website, download his stupid toolbar and kept watching the game.

This guy easily made between $500 to $1,500 this day on just this game.

UEFA champions league are widely followed games across the world. all you got to do is offer really good quality and still viewers from justin.tv to your website. Once they are in your website, the possibilities are infinite.

You have thousands of super target viewers that are willing to download toolbars / do content gateways in order to save $10 bucks on a PPV game or event.

Definitely do a gateway......but do something that is quick like a download or email submit because you don't want to lose the visitor because it took 3-5 minutes to fill out a survey. Time is valuable to these people...especially if it's a live stream. Like EdwardD, he was so hooked that he had no choice BUT to download it...but downloads are fast, so it's all good.

Very interesting idea, If the stream is high quality you do get hooked and you would want to pay. I will definitely give content geteways a shot. Any recommendation on affiliates?
