I just made a custom FBML page and I cannot set it to be the default landing page when some visits it.

Is anyone else having this problem? I was able to do it a few weeks ago, but now that the page is done, I cant find how or where to set it at.

You cannot set any custom tab as default landing page until your page reaches 10,000 fans

What custom FBML you created?

Well shizz...

I just did this one in a few minutes toying around with fbml

Code:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/TalkUFC/144419062254754?v=app_4949752878

I'm assuming you've set the default landing tab to the custom FBML page, but it's not showing you that when you visit? If that's the case, try visiting not as an admin of the page. When I view as admin, I see the page Wall. However, I logout to view and I correctly see my custom FBML as the landing page.

Thats the thing, it isnt letting me select it as the default tab. I did it a few weeks ago, but now I dont see the option at all.

Nice work.. The flyer is an image and the "Join us Today" is a button?

Thanks and Yes, that is correct, the button goes back to my forum.

I believe FB did move some things recently. Just to double check you're in the right place- from your page, click 'Edit Page' under the main photo, then in the left navigation select 'Manage Permissions'. In the middle section of the resulting page, you should see the 'Default Landing Tab' option.

EDIT: got it working so I removed the image.

That's odd! I hope this is not part of FB's tougher crackdown on fanpages. I don't have an answer on this, but I'm searching for any info that might help.

I know it. Like I said, I was able to do it a few weeks ago, but didnt want to leave it until I had time to finish the page.. Now thats its finished, I will be damned if its not gone...

You cant get it to land on it because you are the admin. It lands on it for me.

EDIT: Well, it landed on it because you put the landing page in the url you posted. My bad. What I said is basically true, it wont land on it for admins. Yours though you cant set it to land on it.

I just went to it under my wifes account and it didnt go to it. It went to the wall page.

This is the URL is shows on my profile for the page

Code:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/TalkUFC/144419062254754

Maybe it has to do with having UFC in the title, or what you classified it as.

I have pages that allows me to assign the tab, yet no one can even see the page, (and yes, the page is enabled for the public).

I think it could be a new filter having something to do with the amount of fans you have. See I just checked a page with just a couple of hundred fans or likes and I have the option and can change it no problems. The other day they were changing around something with the requirements needed for custom urls so maybe they changed the requirements for this too.

Well guess I need to hit the service section and find some fans.. Never done facebook before, so its all new to me.

Yep I think so too, I want to say it was something like over 100 fans is the requirement. If someone could confirm that would be awesome. :)

xplicit: I know I sound like a total newbie but I am looking into taking my fb campaigns to the next level. Right now I'm just doing direct linking but would you mind showing the base code that creates that fbml page? Minus the pictures, text, and idea of course.

I have no interest in trying to copy your actual page I'm just in the process of figuring out how to program for fbml. That page is slick and I'd love to use the idea for other kinds of offers. Thanks.

xplicit when you created your page did you choose 'community page' or 'official page'?

From what I can tell that is a community page you have there and I think that is the problem as community pages are not given the option to set default landing tab.

The "Type" is Page, maybe it has to do with that. Types are Website, Local Business, Public Figure. Page just seems strange.
