Yeah I'm just curious how people add those cute stars/other symbols in their thread title?

But there is only one default font for post/thread titles :)
You can change font in post body but not in title (Not copying & pasting here LOL)

Then they are strictly copy & pasting the star.
Plain and simple.
 
Simply use Character map and get the Unicode Letter, no matter its a shape or whatever!

Just as $ symbol comes, stars can come :)

& #9824; -- Spade.

& #9835; -- Note.

& #9827; -- Club.

& #9733; -- Star.

& #10006; -- X.

(delete the space after the &)
 
or you can just use the character map in your operating system. type in charater map in the search and hit enter, it will give it to you.
 
What's amazing is that the human brain is capable of reading the upside down (and backwards) text that is shown here! (For those of us that are English-speaking anyway.)

And according to one university study, forgot where, you can read this quite fast, as long as first and last letters are correctly positioned:
