Programming Language Worth To Learn For IM Purpose

I have learn formal c++ and know a little bit to program in php which so far achieve what I want.

I am interested to learn new programming language which worth to learn for programming bots, keyword research tools or other automation tools which is desktop or web based.

I bet if its web based, I'll stick to php?

So I would like to ask you guys which I believe have a lot of experience to show me a short cut of course. Show the way, I walk through it my own of course.

From my reading, I found out that IM programmer are fond of VB.net.

However, look forward for you guys suggestion.

learn php, so you will understand more about website(php, javascipt, html, css, etc), and then you can combine with your c++ skill.

I don't have problem with php, javascript, html and css.
I've mastered these.

You can try it with python. It is very powerful, flexible and simple object-oriented language .. He has already a lot of written modules for this purpose, like Scrape which is Python module for web browsing and scraping.
