Avoid suspending domain by court order?

Hello blackhatters.

I have a startup ready to be launched, and it will probably attract some unneeded attention, and I suspect some cease and decease letters and stuff.
I see domains being suspended just by opening a case in court against them. Faceporn - just a recent example.
Any down time will be very bad for my domain. So, how do I avoid it? Would moving it offshore help? How would I do that?
Also, any simple way to anonymize my domain? I can't come up with anything better than anonymously buy it from myself. Which is quite a hassle.

Well, for anyone interested. Here's what I've found in my research.
Just register domain offshore, or transfer it there. You don't have to go too far, Canada will do. They will ignore any US court orders. They say it plain and simple. Here's exec of rebel.com, for example:

We have received US court orders in the past and our position has always been to inform the complainant that the order is from the incorrect jurisdiction and not to act on the order. We then make sure our customer is aware of the order we received and the steps we took to protect their domains"

[/FONT]Unfortunately, that doesn't mean a total immunity from US courts. From another source:
"While offshore registrars are indeed not obligated to comply with any U.S.-court issued order, it's a different story if the party files and enforces an order on the .com Registry in Virginia. Dell Computer got one that forced VeriSign to lock out 3 offshore registrars from their .com and .net registrations, though VeriSign may not always comply depending on the type of dispute."

So there you go. Still, moving your sites offshore seems like a good idea.

Verisign has authority over all comnetorg tld's. No, the way to do this is to register a Canada domain and host it offshore. Just google hosts in Isle of Man, Gibraltar, Antigua, or any of the old tax havens that have been gutten by OECD.
