Domain buying help [URGENT!]

I managed to find a domain .com name hat has 200k searches and a $5 average CPC for the ?keyword?.
Now, I?m facing a problem. Where to register it and not get screwed in the middle. Does anybody have any experience in buying valuable domains?
And a another question; I know that that it?s very valuable, but how many figures; 2,3,4?

I have to agree with nufaman, domain names are like ideas, they are worth nothing without execution. Well they are worth $9 to the registrar.

Go with a reputable registrar and book it. Don't do a lookup at their site and leave without ordering because that's when the games begin which I witnessed with Network Solutions.

I don't recommend using 1&1, they have terrible customer service and look to screw you in every way possible.

I have never had any problems with Moniker, so I would say to go with them.

Go with Moniker if you're just registering one or a few domains. They have a really standup reputation and great customer service.

If you think you're likely to end up with many domains, go with a larger provider (who has significantly better prices). My favorite provider is Resell.biz, but other large ones include enom and opensrs (tucows).

Stay away from GoDaddy, 1and1, and anywhere that has a special on for cheaper than $7 per domain.

internet.bs is the best IMO, cheap and free whois privacy. buying the domain name is the easy part...you still have to build the site and drive traffic. thats 99% of the work.

thanks for your suggestions. Reading the forum i got paranoid. Ill register it today with all the .net and haypen combinations. If every thing passes ok, ill post it in a few hours.

I was going to say, just buy it QUICK, doesn't matter where-- like GoDaddy or whatever. Make sure you put private registration on it so you don't get inundated with spammy weirdos.

The real question now is, what are you going to do with it so you can benefit from all that traffic?

I have several clients that have super high profile domain names, and I have a part of my business where I search for great domains for people. The first thing you should do is just get some hosting, then run a Wordpress install on it and put something up, either with AdSense if you have an account, or CPA offers, or banner ads through AdBrite, or whatever you can get your hands on. DO NOT do CashParking, as this is where domain registrars make all of their money (from people with great domains who don't know what to do with them). Keyword research helps, link building, the whole thing-- just, with a high profile domain name your efforts are super-charged because the search engines are going to pick up that exact match domain and run with it, if that makes any sense.

I can tell you more about what direction to go with it if you want to tell me the domain name. If not, that's ok too.

I am not sure if this is a joke you are doing. A member with such a high post count knows at first hand that BROAD match should not be used for keyword research. Actually, EXACT option is good enough to find the niche which we are looking into.

I do not want to disappoint you, but the real numbers for your keywords (doamins) are less than 200 for local or globl searches.

Yes Avoid them! They have some ethics of Robbing Domains

Never search and leave without registering! If the domain seems valuable, You will loose it

You're absolutely right about this and I learn it the hard way. I did the research on a domain and did the lookup on a sellers site but didn't buy it at the time. I went back an hour later and it was already gone. That's some sneaky $hit. I won't make that mistake again.

Godaddy doesn't exactly steal the names, they just suggest names to other users who did a related search. So if someone did a search related to the domain you were looking for, it might pop-up as a suggestion to them and they might take it.
So just do your research somewhere else. Also don't go about checking the value and appraisal on sites like cubestat and all as they show a log of recently appraised sites. So if someone see's a high appraised and available name, they'll just take it off.

That has happened to me a couple of times, even with GoDaddy, and I have a good friend/ source there who told me that they absolutely buy names (though it's not on the record of course).

If you find a good url and can buy it for $7, consider that a one-time opportunity and jump on it.
