Hello Everybody!
Hope everyone of you is doing well. I just started link building for my blog and was wondering how backlinks are counted in eyes of G?
Especially about profile backlinks, my question is that if I get a link from say
www [dot] site [dot] com / user=155
and after a couple of days I signup again at the same site and get a link from
www [dot] site [dot] com / user=3614
(I'm not allowed to post direct links yet :) )
Will these be counted as two links or a single one?

Same question about blog guest posts and Articles that if I do 10 guest posts on the same blog containing link to my own blog, so I got 10 backlinks???

I'm basically a web writer and just though to try my luck on this blogging thing too :) All is going good except this confusion...
Please make it clear, I'm waiting for replies.

Long live BHW!
Sarim.

More backlink you get, better it is. A backlink is a backlink even if you already have a backlink on the same domain. But It's better to have many backlinks from many differents domains.

That is what I was expecting but wasn't sure about this :)
Thanks for your reply.

make sure that the link is from different ip's.

Okay I got it :)
But one more question is rising in my mind. "What is pinging?"
I mean that if I created a forum profile and put a backlink to my site in my signature. Then go to http://www.pingler.com (or likes) and ping my profile URL through it...
Is this what you call "pinging" :)

Sarim.

make sure that the link is from different ip's.
You might want to clarify that for newbies.
The reason for using different ips isn't for Google, it's for the site your creating the multiple accounts on.

Google won't know what ip you were using when you created the backlinks. All it's concerned with is the actual url and anchor text in the backlink. But if your going to log into a forum and create multiple accounts, the site your logging into very well may care. If you don't use different ips then there's a good chance the backlinks will be deleted. Most likely the accounts as well.

Pinging is where you let the search engines know that you have new content. That way it can get indexed quickly.

Another reason you want to do this is so search engines know that you're the original content. That way even if scrapers rip your shit SE give you credit.

Thanks for your explaination :)
So the method of pinging I mentioned in my First post of this thread is fine or not?
I'll be obliged to get the answer ::rolleyes:

Nice addition Grey ;)

no PR blogs are almost pointless in my opinion. Look for high PR do follow blogs and do not spam, write quality posts or it will just get deleted
