How to keep up to date affiliate links accross multiple wordpress blogs ?

Hello guys,

I'm slowly getting into a problem with more and more sites to manage.

Basically i'm using lots of wordpress sites with aff links. The aff links are "beautifullized" with the plugin "pretty link".

My question is :
- Sooner or later, some links will be outdated (example : pointing to a product that isn't available anymore)

How do you handle this ? How do you track and keep up-to-date and replace when necessary all your aff links ?
I can't check every single aff link every week... so how can I do ?

Are you using a master excel sheet were you store all you aff links and check them all at once ?

The best way is to link out via a .htaccess or php redirect. So if a product/site isn't available you can easily change the linking at one place only and it will be all good everywhere

I use pretty link on a ****************** domain to change links across all domains remotely.

just add a line like this to .htaccess everytime you want to add a new redirect:

Redirect /cheesefactory [URL]http://www.cheeseefactory.com/myrefcodenumber[/URL]

Add this to the .htaccess on the root. So if you want to link to the cheesefactory site then you will do it like this:
www.your_domain.com/cheesefactory

instead of a direct url

Easiest way is to have a tracking domain, load all your affiliate links there, and manage it all from one central location when you need to make changes.

If you're redirecting to CPA offers that have expiry dates, some WP plugins will automatically let you redirect to another url if it does expire so you don't have to manually change it yourself.

Sounds like a pretty good idea. What do you use for managing all those links?

I thought about the "main" pretty link install, but I thought it would leave heavy footprints accross all domains (but I didn't think above that...)

I guess if i'm doing something like that i better have a tracking domain named something "usual" or "standard" like yourtrackinglink.com of similar

I guess another way to handle this is prosper 202, right :questionm (someone mentions CPA offer and I know prosper if very good at tracking this)

Do you have that many blogs that you can't change it by yourself ?

You can use either tracking202 or openx to manage all your aff links.
