Best way to learn SEO

Hey i want to shift my online marketing from PPC to SEO. Just wondering where would be a good place to start learning SEO. Is there any good products/ebooks out there, i should get my hands on?

it depends on the keyword you plan on targeting. if it is very competitive then ur better off with PPC

To be honest with you... I would set up a site of your own and practice on it. That's the way I learned. i learned by doing it on my own stuff. It's definitely a learning experience, but real world experience is something that'll really help you out a ton.

Aaron Wall's SEO book is a comprehensive guide and is a very enlightening stuff for those hombres who want to perfect his SEO skills. Moreover, if you want to have it for free you can download it at TPB but if you have enough money then its better to buy it to compensate aaron's hardwork.

I found the SEO by lynda.com was well presented it went through the whole process systematically right way

I'm mostly learned from just reading different blogs here and there. I read over I think 2 maybe 3 ebooks about SEO. But, reading over a few blogs and forum posts has helped me the most. That and asking a few questions. A friend of mine has been trying to get me to switch to doing PPC but I'm kind of leary of it.

The best way is to make a domain, make a few pages, and play with it for a week, see how it is after a week.

Actually yea I have learned a lot from here. Not only that but a lot of posts helped me get the wheels turning in my head. Once I put to use what I learned here I made 300$ in about 5 days just doing SEO and a little bit of BH. Not much but keep in mind I slack a lot and I mean lot lot lol. I really didn't do much either.
