He has put AdSense on a Copyrighted video

While I was browsing in YouTube videos, I found a guy who is making money from AdSense on a Copyrighted video. This means, the video is a song with the original video clip to it. I don't think the song's artist would allow someone to earn money with it. How is this possible ? If it's as easy as it seem to put AdSense on videos, I'll enable revenue sharing on all my 8 videos and make 4000 impressions/day. Really!

Just watched the video and I don't see any any ads placed within or around it...you sure that's the right URL?

Please make sure you have no Ad blocking software installed (for example AdBlock Plus for Mozilla Firefox). If so, disable it and re-watch.

There is a program on YouTube for big copyright holders that get their content constantly pirated. I think youtube gives them a couple of options, one of them is to take down the offending the video. Another is to keep it and monetize it. So the ads you're seeing may actually be the copyright holder's, not the uploader.

I've read somewhere that YouTube only allows copyright holders to place a link to buy the song from Apple below the video and in the video, not to place AdSense on it... could you confirm with a source that AdSense may be placed as well ?

You might be right. I read this on YT itself a long time ago, damn, will try to find where exactly.

I don't remember them quoting adsense but I thought it might be a possibility.

Anyway if it's the uploader's ads, sooner or later he's not gonna get away with it. His risking his whole adsense/YT account so I wouldn't even think of trying something like that.
