Made $30 on two articles today

Doing what is required (rather than what you'd like to write about) will get you more money.

Also a speech to text system (like Via voice) a couple of hours training and before you know it 30+ 500 word articles a day is very easily possible.

Try and push hard month one, go for close to 1000 articles on topics the subbies actually WANT.
7 hours a day, 5 days a week, 4 and a bit weeks. With the right attitude (and very fast typing speed, or speech to text package) this is about possible.

Stop after every 10 articles and go through them for spelling (homonyms are a problem with speech to text) and grammar. Then pile on and do another 10.

Having a few thousand article earning a little for you is a great help when trying to set up another line of business on the net.

Don't be shy of trying microworkers as well.

If you've got a few IM tools that you don't use much, you will find many of them work wonders with microworkers,

"Want 200 links pay $30" great, whip out a linking tool and do it.

Overall, article writing is a great way to start. Almost anything you turn your hand to on the net will need you to either be good at, or know what IS good when it comes to copy.

Great post...everything you said couldn't be more true. Everyone needs to remember that there's a ton of money to be made out there with conent away from AC. Like you said, everything in IM is based around content and copywriting skills. Without learning it as a base for almost all IM projects, people are kind of doomed to fail. Even when outsourcing, a person still needs to know good copy from bad copy to make the content work for them.

I love to rewrite news and Google trends. I am thinking about writing for AC. I'm not exactly sure what I would include in the signature since I don't have any links, but I'm sure I can find something. I am assuming that when people are talking about AC they are meaning associated content?

Yea man, sometimes they do take a long time to publish (or deny) your article. Nothing is wrong, that's just how they do. Also, you probably won't have a problem with your paypal situation but I'm not too sure about that...

I would agree. I have ONLY written content for clients directly, but generally for a niche finance market. Anyway, I currently get $40 per 400-500 word article 2 per week. I'd be somewhat interested in writing for other sources, but I'm a bit spoiled as to payment, and wouldn't want less at this point.

Basically I'm looking for a few extra dollars to justify to my wife why I'm spending so much time on this, and I'd like to keep the content for my own page.

It is better to rewrite the article.

If you are submitting to more than one site plus your blog (or one site plus your blog) just rewrite the information to make it look unique. Duplicate content doesn't get high payment.

Also read the rules of each site before you decide to plunge into it. I know for a fact, infobarrel only takes original and doesn't allow you to re-post your articles on other sites. Whereas Bukisa doesn't care so much about how original the article is.

If you have any other questions do not hesitate to ask them if you cannot find them via search.
