When I arrived in China I took a cab into Beijing and we were in an accident.

A violent fight broke out between my driver and the other people involved in the accident. I could hear the driver saying in Mandarin to "just take the American's bags". By this point a mob of about 200 people had encircled the car to watch the fight.

I caught a moment when the cab driver jumped into the other people's car and was trying to ram it into oncoming traffic.

That was my break. I got my bags and bolted into the night.

They REALLY can't drive in China.

During the 3 months I spent there I saw about 5 accidents, which erupted in similar violence.

Isnt is weird how some of those accidents the drivers, bicyclist, pedestrians could obviously see something coming and did absolutely nothing to avoid the accidents. I've driven in China & Phillipines and it's just true, they cant drive.

i noticed that... many of those accidents could've been avoided. it wasn't like they were speeding. :faint:
