Say you want to rank for a certain keyword. Then you create a unique article, stick it into homepage, and then let the rest of the site be autoblog.

Does this work for that phrase. In other words, the other pages (which are not unique) are helping or hurting the rank of the home page?

No it doesn't help or hurt.

I actually do that with many of my autoblogs but only to feature a certain article. Sticky articles can be used to promote affiliate/cpa offers but will have little effect on the overall blog's SEO because the search engine is reading separate meta-data for the site.

here is what i have been doing lately.
i have been writing the first article the way i want.
then i turn on auto.
i post 3 posts, i re-write them by hand so they are working the kw/kws i want
and then set the auto to work.

i set the front page to show all 4 (the first and the next 3) FULL articles as sticky.
you can spin them, but i think if you get a review from G and they are spun, you are going to have issues, but if all 4 are good articles...
anyway, thats what i have been doing and its working better.
i also have been taking the other articles and giving them a quick spin working them out a bit to see if it helps.

RICH WILL BE THE MAN
who creates an autoblogger with spin, lol

Big question regarding putting a special page for unique write-ups.

Is it really necessary to put them into the main page or a static page?
Why not create them just like a post? Is the URL of a post different from a static page?

Creating a page does make it easier to stick to the front page of a WP site.

I have been going with small wp blogs made up of only 4-5 pages that are all seo'd for a primary and then related KW.

These are small mini sites that I am expirementing with.

The first page is a Product review page, they are built on subdomains using the product model number as the sudomain name.

So the idea is to build a 4-5 page static seo'd site and then have broad category that does not show at all, but posts to twitter for quick traffic....

We will see if it does anything. :)

Yes, the idea is to create mini sites. But instead of writing 5 pages, write one page, make that the home page, optimize for that keyword (and exact domain...), and then let it rip with autoblogs after that. The tons of extra pages, even if they don't rank well, will push some pagerank to the home page. So this is a very fast model of getting a blog out and ranking for the keywords on that single page.

Of course as you say the idea can be expanded to have 5 unique pages, and perhaps more autoblog pages to push stuff at those 5 pages...

So the autoblogging part is just for the search engine to crawl the site regularly for the new content in which your visitors may not even see them?

I am also trialing a simular method - I have recently purchased a couple of aged domains (7 yrs+) for a small outlay. I have set these up with a static PAGE using unique content targeted to my primary keyword - using a WP plugin I also include the newest 5 posts at the bottom of the page to create the freshness.

My spin on this is a PHP script I have created which creates unique high quality and syntax correct content with varying word count and paragraphs etc - The script is used in conjunction with a ubot bot I also created which executes the script thereby pumping out as many unique articles as I want into a separate text files. These text files are then zipped up and then scheduled to be posted over the course of the next 6 months.

I am hopeful that the auto blog content will be looked upon by G as authoritive quality content thereby ranking the homepage in particular for the targeted keyword. By the end of the 6 months I will have a massive site relevant to the niche and ranking for the long term - at least that is the plan.....

Great idea. I think there is any easier way to do that. With any spinner, you can have it generate multiple versions as text docs, and dump them into a directory. There is a plugin (forgot its name) which can randomly pull from those directories.

I think in general, this method might work pretty good.

Yes, true. You could even have an autoblog system (wprobot) just import youtube vids on a semi-regular basis, just to keep spiders moving.

The script randomly creates articles which are unique - there is no spinning needed. It took me many weeks to arrange the verbs and adverbs along with many other attributes to create coherant articles at the push of a button. You are correct though, in general most spinners allow you to output to text files which could be used in a simular fashion.

do you think it is easier to rank with just one 500 or 700 word article perfect for keyword and domain?? vs 4 articles on the same subject with similar keywords with the primary article being focused to a T??

I think you always want to rank for that one article page (call it the main money page), exact fit to your domain name, and then the other 4 sub-money pages of maybe related or longer tail keywords are gravy, so you don't have to buy a gzillion domains. But I would think always try to rank for that one home money page, and let the chips falls where they may for other sub-money pages.

Related to the above, all autoblog pages are linking back to the home (money) page, so it will get the most page rank. One can figure out a way to push some page rank to the other money pages via some custom linking. I am figuring a plugin to do that.

^^ on mine i just focus on the front page as the money page. whatever happens to the other pages. I just figured the more unique content i put on that front page, with focus on the same kw the better off G will like it.

Actually i'm about to do a case study on that www.mrseotools.com but i'm not sure when =)

But for now i've been getting unique articles at $2 a pop for keywords that i researched that have traffic. Then i make wp-robot post youtube videos every week or two that way the site won't be static and it will also increase the number of pages my site has hoping that with that it's not static since it IS relevant content being added to my page and helsp me move away from the cookie cutter mfa style.

Just for kicks i put 2 unique articles on homepage sometimes stickied.

I like the best spinner, but I only use it for nuking. My new site startup model is: wp, 5-10 paid keyword and lsi articles and a daily autoblog. Works like a charm. :)
