Fucking Computers! Need Some Help Please.

I re-started my computer only to find this beautiful message. (I'm typing this from my room mates computer)

"Windows Could Not Load Because Of An Error In The Software
Please Report This Problem As :
load needed DLLs for kernel
Please contact your support person to report this problem."

It won't start in safe mode.. I can't do anything because it brings that screen up before it will load anything else. It won't even restore it to a previous store date.. I've tried that.. does anyone have the slightest clue how to fix this since I have no idea in hell where my CD for this computer is?

CAn you get to safe mode with command prompt? Turn on the computer and just keep jamming on F8..

bhnoobz - It won't start with safe mode.. It won't start in safe mode with command prompt, it won't let me load anything.. I can view the option of starting Safe mode, but it'll just say that message.

If the worst comes to worst.. I'll end up having to do a system restore and that would not be fun.

I don't know what even causes this error.. I've been spending most of my days on the computer since 2000 and I've seen a god load of different error messages but this one is the first time I have ever seen it. No specific file is mentioned, only that particular message. I didn't download any new virus/trojan or anything like that.. it's a genuine software error message.

This error often occurs when system files are either missing or corrupted and can sometimes be attributed to overclocking. You need to do a repair/upgrade install of Wind0ze.

That's fantastic.. well.. looks like I'll have to find the CD because if I call it in, it'll take god knows how long to get a recovery disc for my specific system.

I've never used Overclocking though and HEY a new message
Apparently System32/Hal.dll is missing. I would be damned to know how these things happen.

It shouldn't be all that hard to find the recovery CD for your system on a torrent site. Try TPB. If you need Hiren's Boot CD as Gen mentioned, PM me and I'll up it for you.

Well, I guess my computer had a program built in for emergency re-store.. so now I'm trying to download everything I had before.

Apparently System32/Hal.dll is missing.

If you are still having a problem you can also try this:

Get a copy of the dll from your friends computer and put it on a boot disk.
Boot your computer and copy the file over to your windows /system32 folder and then try booting the box.

It's worked before for me when windows would throw away a dll file on shutdown for no reason at all.

yeah my computer needs a dam format, its randomly users 100% cpu usage so theres a obviously virus which i have tried every possible software under the sun to remove it. It might also be a registry problem.

Use Ubuntu

Use a boot cd of some sort. You can even boot up with the norton ghost cd. run diskchecking software. If there is a bad sector, it'll just fix it. If not, backup your data with a EHDD and reinstall windows. No big deal. Maybe this time you could dual boot with Ubuntu or some other linux distro. I always find that when I'm having windows problems or some sort of virus, I can still make use of a functioning system with Ubuntu.
