Hi,
So i have a real fan page for my band, i worked hard using my 100 fb account to get to almost 20,000 fans,
but the page seems worthless:

1) when sending update to all fans - the message gets to some folder in the inbox that nobody sees
2) i cant message all the fans... (right?)
3) i can't even create an event with all the fans (i can only invite my friends), and even if i could invite all fans - i cant message them coz it's more than 5000.

so is there any way to messsage all fans? or do anything with this page? it seems worthless at the moment...

10x.

Its a FAN PAGE or a Group?

If its a FAN PAGE, the only way to reach everyone is through a status update. Creating an event will not work nor can you send a private message to everyone.

yea fanpages aren't nearly as effective for promotional purposes as they were a couple months ago. most users hate any form of commercial solicitation, or at least judging by the comments on the status update it seems that way.

If you post on the pages wall, it goes into the 20k fans news feed. That is what members see when they sign in.

Also, take photos of the events and tag them, so their friends will see the photos in their news feed, even if they did not like your page. Ask fans to upload photos from the events, ask them to tag the images.

i don't think it really appears on their walls,
i think that only people that had any type of communication with the page recently see those posts,
i say it because i'm a fan of many pages and i remember that when i became a fan i saw their posts pretty constantly but after a few days i stopped seeing their posts.

also, when i post something on my page and we have 20,000 fans, and get just 5-10 likes/comments, i don't think it makes sense, statistically...

do u think i'm wrong?

Because your posts are not that interesting and the members of your fan page joined not because they were fan or know your band or ever heard a song of it, but because you did mass invites.

this is true. also updates do not go on the wall but in the news feed

interesting updates usually do get a good responce, use open ended questions
