In this particular equation, it doesn't matter if there are parenthesis or not. If you follow PEMDAS you are still going to get the right answer.
Looking at 6-6*6 ... you see there are no Parenthesis .. So PEMDAS becomes EMDAS... You also see no exponents... So now its MDAS( +1 To first reply in this thread) and once you come to M in PEMDAS you will see that there is multiplication in this equation and that's how you start.
Other than that... This thread should be sticky'd. If you can't do basic math, how are you going to manage your money when you do finally make an online income?

I answered correctly, haha, now comes the real test: I admit I earn at least:
1. $ 1M per month!
2. $ 10K per month.
3. $ 1K per month.
4. Not even $500 per month.
5. Nothing, but I consider myself worthy of at least 1000K per month because I passed this thread's test.
6. I'm slogging at a day job as an assistant/accountant where my boss, illiterate otherwise, is making easy millions.

I personally know some of the best online and offline marketers who would give you 10 different answers if presented with a simple arithmetic query, but despite the fact that they are miserable mathematicians, they still are minting money on auto-pilot, i.e., even while in sleep. So when someone said, "Is it a wonder that so many people fail in IM", I hope he didn't mean Internet Marketing! It's a fact that people who don't do well in Maths, still do well in life in other fields.

Perhaps god meant for math to be done in a logical order and is laughing at the people who completes the second part of the equation first.

Why is everyone laughing at the people who answered 0 and not the people that answered 30?
The people that answered 0 had no clue or forgot that you did the multiplication first. The ones that answered 30 must have did multiplication first and then screwed up in the math.
What does math have to do with IM anyway? Perhaps I can't do algebra but if I can write an article that converts at 20% then I am doing better than most.
Its been over 20 years since I was in school and most of the math I learned then was irrelevant to what I did in real life. That along with many of the other things I learned there. I work in construction and as long as you can read a tape measure (inches and feet....not the metric system) and do simple addition and subtraction in your head, you can do fine.
I have nothing but disdain for the people making fun of the people that got this answer wrong (I did). What if I ask what is 72 5/8" - 3' 6"....Can you do this math in your head without a calculator or writing it down? I can because it is what I do.
So don't berate people that missed this on the test cause they may be the ones kicking your ass in the IM field because they got common sense and not book smarts. Thats what will set you above in the field.
