without knowing what you are marketing the most important things you have to do to market locally is to have a strong local presence on your website. Make sure you have the city name on your home page and other pages. Have the city and product name in content on your site a few times. If you have a physical location use MicroFormating on your address on your site and be sure do create and verify a Google Places, Yahoo Local and Bing Maps listing.
These are all very simple and will help to establish the local relevancy you want for your product and website.
