How to backtrack competitors 301 redirects?

Pretty straight forward, i'm trying to find a way to backtrack a competitors backlinks. Yahoo site explorer and multiple searches do not show any crumbs. Competitor has pr4 with 0 backlinks.. so he's obviously using 301 redirects. How can I find out those redirects.. any ideas?

I don't think there is an easy way to do this. The nature in which 301 redirects work is not typically visible to people without access to their server.

I might be wrong but I'm 99% sure that this isn't possible.

I would second "impossible". It is server side and doesn't show any data to the public.

One idea is to a reverse dns lookup on domaintools you know the rest - but your going to pay out the rear for the report. You can search your competitors domain and then get a report of other domains they owned and find likely candidates for the 301. Plausible but pricey.
