With AI-Powered search becoming more common, I'm wondering how website owners are adapting their content strategies.
Traditional SEO focused heavily on ranking pages in search results, but now users can get direct answer without always visiting a website.
Do you think website owners should change how they structure and write content to stay visible?
would you focus more on topical authority, original insights, or content that directly answer specific questions?
Curious to hear what others are seeing in practice.

Basic answers are becoming easier for AI to replace so content with real examples and information people won't find on every other website is what can make a site worth visiting.

i think content that directly answers a question is becoming more important, but topical authority still matters. just writing short answers for ai search isn't enough if the content doesn't have real value. one thing i'm curious about is whether sites are actually seeing more traffic from ai search or just getting mentioned without clicks.

already shifting toward direct answers and original stuff lol, generic filler has no chance of getting cited imo

Are you looking mainly at informational blogs or buyer intent stuff? The way AI summaries hit pure info sites feels way worse than product pages.

yeah, i think original info matters more now. anyone can write a basic article with AI, so adding your own examples, photos or real results can make a difference. i'd still answer common questions clearly, but just rewriting what other sites already say probably won't help much.

I’d focus on all three, but original insights matter most. Clear answers help AI understand your content, while real experience and useful information give people a reason to trust and visit your site.

Yes, good formatting certainly makes things easier to understand, but firsthand experience is what will set your content apart. Wherever possible, include actual examples or screenshots rather than rewriting content that is already ranking.

I’d focus more on original insights and covering topics with real depth. Content should answer specific questions clearly, but also offer practical experience or information AI summaries can’t easily replace. Topical authority still matters, but usefulness comes first.

True, just covering a topic isn't enough when ten other sites are saying the same thing. I try to add practical examples, actual testing or insights that readers won't find in every competing article.

however there is something that cannot be found even with the use of artificial intelligence on another ten websites. they might still turn out to be of utmost significance but I will be sure to do all testing and take ss with all results. In addition to this, I will examine websites with clicks rather than those that are only visible via AI searches.

anyway, I think it is crucial to give definite ans however, it will not be enough to post something about topical issues. this is what all the websites do using AI. I would try to pay attention to the testing, experience, screenshots, and statistics that other websites do not have. It is important to control the visibility of my website among the results from AI, but I would also focus on click nd conversions.

I think original insights and topical authority matter more than ever. I'd focus on answering specific user questions clearly and keeping content genuinely useful rather than writing articles just to target keywords.

i feel like now, the content needs to have some utility nd not just revolve around keywords.the ai search engines are able to give answers to simple queries nd therefore it would be good for the websites to have some uniqueness like perssonal experience nd examples.i would make sure to address questions nd add some original data.

i would nt be re writing pages for ai searches only. i would see what queries still attracts traffic and writes content that can not be found in typical ans wer summaries.

for basic "what is X" questions, an AI summary might be all someone needs. but detailed comparisons, calculators or actual tools still give people a reason to visit the site. i'd start measuring enquiries and conversions rather than judging everything by organic clicks.

One thing i would changes about it ws the inclusion of the information that leds to that particular response as opposed to the response alone. AI can sum up the facts but it des not always include all the messy stuff that goesss into making a decision.

Of course, it's a change of priority, though. Original research is of primary importance as the AI will summarize any general information for free. Your unique statistics, case studies, and your opinion will be the ones bringing you visits and citations. Next is topical authority. Become an expert on a topic and become the authoritative source about it. Giving answers in a direct form is a mere format issue; give a short answer at the beginning of each section and then expand upon it. General "what is X" topics are the most vulnerable, concentrate on comparisons, decisions, and expert advice instead.

Proxellor's point about measuring enquiries rather than clicks stuck with me, because a mention in an AI answer and an actual visit feel like two very different things. It makes me wonder whether the pages that still earn clicks are the ones where the answer alone isn't enough — where someone needs to compare options or work through a decision before they can act. If that's the case, is the real shift less about writing shorter answers and more about structuring pages around the messy middle of a decision, like somcer mentioned? And how are people here deciding which of their existing pages are worth reworking first, when the traffic signals are that mixed?
