Hello, I need to promote a forum on reddit
I just read a lot of things here, so I learnt it may be way more difficult than I thought

I wanted to use Tor + socks5 residential for anon, then go on my niches (niches are "make money on internet" , and that kind of things)

Then scroll for some days, then start to post normally for some days, and after 7-10 days, start to post, post messages subtly hinting that I have an interesting forum, so people would DM me and I could reply to them privately

So my 3 methods would be :
- as I just said, post messages subtly to get DM and answering the link of the forum in dm
- DM people myself that i see would be interested, with the link of the forum in the DM, 10-15 DM/day would be great
- after some time of activity, create myself a thread on reddit, not posting the link directly but talking about interesting things and subtly drop hints that I have an interesting community etc...

My questions are : Is my plan doable ? Do you have some advices to make it work ? and the DM strategy (me DMing people everyday) do you know something about that ? I read a lot about OF promote here but it's not what I'm doing, and I can totally promote in DM but i didnt read anything about that here, is it always banned too or are there some strategies ?

Thanks

Perfect. Your plan would work from a technical standpoint, but there are some details you need to keep in mind to avoid getting banned by Reddit.

First error: This isn't strictly about a ban, but rather your combination of Tor and a residential SOCKS5 proxy. Reddit views Tor as highly malicious from the outset; even with a SOCKS5 proxy, Tor’s digital footprint is so distinct that you’ll still be detected and quickly end up on their radar for a ban.

In the best-case scenario, you’ll be prompted to solve a CAPTCHA with every click; in the worst-case scenario, your account will be shut down very quickly.

Second error: Sending DMs. If your account hasn't been "warmed up" (i.e., built up with a significant amount of karma) and you start sending private messages containing a link, you’ll be flagged as spam within 15 minutes.

Third: Account "warming."

Simply scrolling through the site for a week won't be enough to bypass the filters for new accounts. Nowadays, to counter these kinds of tactics, platforms look for accounts that are a few months old and have a history of interaction—not just karma. I recommend buying accounts; for just a few dollars, you can get some that are perfect for your needs.

Solutions:

  1. Anti-detect browser: You should use one of these tools, which are designed to mask your digital footprint and excel at spoofing browser data. I’ve had good results with Dolphin{anty}, AdsPower, and Multilogin.
2. 4G/5G mobile proxies: Avoid standard residential ISP proxies. The reason is simple: Reddit can’t easily ban a 4G ISP, as doing so would affect multiple users—and if you’re using one in a busy region, the "cost" of such a ban would be too high for them. In contrast, banning a residential proxy is incredibly easy for them. They’ll simply shut down that proxy, affecting only one—or at most two—users.

3. Buy aged accounts; I recommend ones that are at least 6 months old with around 500 to 1,000 karma. It will be much harder for you to get banned with these.

4. DO NOT send your link to every user via DM without a strategy, as doing so will get it blacklisted by Reddit. Instead, do something like this: use intermediary pages (pre-landing pages, Linktrees, or redirects from trusted platforms like Google Sites or Notion). This ensures that the link posted on Reddit varies or appears harmless, while still directing traffic to your forum.

Good luck, bro. I hope this helps—if you need any further assistance, you know where to find me. hice toda esta respuesta me tomo como 15 minutos y cuando entro me aparece un You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action.

Thank you for your answer Chatgpt
No, brother—BHW’s detection system is actually very good. I just ran my reply through a translator, that’s all. But if that’s still the case, your system should work. Good luck!

What to do: create a throwaway Reddit account, spend a week posting genuine content in relevant subreddits, then use PhantomBuster to send up to fifteen personalized DMs per day with a short link to your forum, and later start a discussion thread that subtly mentions your community. Why: because Reddit users trust accounts that contribute before promoting, and personalized DMs avoid the spam filter that blocks generic links.

Okay man
Thank you for your answer

so 1. antidetect, i can use them with TOR ? or i should forget about TOR ? i need to be anon, it's really important. and i'm not sure that new phone + cash prepaid 4g sim would be enough

2. so yeah some say residential proxies (static or dynamic, i don't even know which one to choose for now), some say 4g sim, idk which one to choose for the moment

3. that's what i planned to do, buying aged accounts with good karma, but i'm afraid that the moment i connect on it, it'll get banned instant, since it will not be the same ip, same device, etc... idk. why does it seem like nobody does this ?

4. okay i can't spam my link in dm, not even 15 times a day i guess, well that sucks cause i kinda need to do this a way or another

If PhantomBuster really permits to send my 15 dms per day, would be really great. Btw i didn't exactly understand what is exactly about PhazntonBuster, but if it's for writing personalized dm, i can do it its not a problem, i can write 15 times the different dm, every day, without any problem

1. TOR leaves a very easy-to-detect footprint; forget about it. When I talk about a 4G/5G proxy, I’m not referring to a physical SIM card; look for a mobile proxy provider (where you buy data by the GB). It’s the most expensive option, but it still won’t cost you more than 10 USD. When combined with anti-detect browsers, your digital footprint is effectively hidden—you become virtually untraceable. If someone tries to track you, they might see your IP in, say, downtown New York, while you could actually be sitting comfortably in a McDonald’s.

2. Think of it this way: you’re Reddit, and you need to ban an account you suspect of spamming. If it’s a rotating residential proxy, Reddit sees this: you access the site from Chicago on Monday, New York on Tuesday, and California on Wednesday—that’s physically impossible, so: ban.
Second scenario: you use a fixed residential ISP proxy. If they grow suspicious of you, they’ll just ban you. Reddit prefers to keep its community clean, and banning a single account doesn’t hurt them.
Scenario 3: You use a mobile proxy in the U.S.—let’s say, in downtown New York. This means you’re sharing that IP with everyone within a certain radius—let’s estimate 2km (just as an example). If Reddit becomes suspicious of that IP, they might want to ban it, but the risk of accidentally banning many other innocent people in such a large city is too high—so, they turn a blind eye. Furthermore, if you disconnect and reconnect your proxy, your IP changes completely while remaining in the same general area—much like how you might be using mobile data on your phone while walking around the city. TIP: Disable the automatic downloading of videos and photos. A few characters of text won’t burn through your proxy data allowance, but videos and photos certainly will—the costs could skyrocket.

3. When purchasing an account, ensure it originates from the region you are targeting for your advertising. Following my previous example: if you want to market in the U.S., buy U.S.-based accounts. You can then use them freely within that region; since these accounts have been "aged" using mobile proxies, it simply looks as though you’ve moved to a different city—or perhaps just shifted your location slightly—within the same country. To decide which country to target, first identify your intended audience. Second, research which regions have the highest adoption rates for the platform; the more people using it in a given area, the less suspicious your activity will appear. An account showing unusual behavior in Alaska, for instance, is viewed differently than one in New York.

4. You can approach this indirectly. They aren’t reading your messages constantly; instead, AI systems monitor your DMs for spam patterns. Avoid using AI-generated or "copy-paste" messages—send something unique to each person. Also, try using alternative links, such as a Linktree or a similar service.

5. MY OWN IDEA: I believe you could heavily automate this entire process using a VPS. By employing a robust AI engine and a few scripts, you might be able to bypass Reddit’s systems without being detected. COSTS: Keep in mind that the necessary services will incur expenses—expect to pay around $50 USD per month.

Thanks for your advices bro, can I have experience from other people too ? It's really important since i absolutely fkin need to be able to do what i want to do (dm people on reddit, make some post, promote discretly my forum)

Tor is a bad idea, quick way to burn your account.

Also that niche is highly competitive and filled with spammers, so as you start trying to promote your forum you're going to get people reporting your account. Your best best is to build some really good content that gives methods and to post them on a high-traffic forum for a bit.

Maybe write a book with a small method (that works) and offer it for free ungated. Make a post and offer it to people without making them jump through hoops.
If you're willing to spend money, buy reddit ads to get your post more attention ($20-50) and then offer more of that content on the forum but requiring them to sign up to get it. You want to build good will first.
